This was a gem of a fight. Back when Miranda was still a beast, and Abraham didn't fight behind a turtle shell for 2:30 of each round. It showed Miranda's beastliness, and Abraham's toughness. I know the result of this is kind of null and void because Abraham completely dominated Miranda, and knocked him out cold in their rematch, but just out of curiosity, how did you score their first fight? I can't remember how I scored it with all the point deductions. I just remember Miranda inflicted more damage, and "won" the fight, if not the boxing match.
Check it out for sure man. Abraham gets his jaw broken with a good bit of the fight left, but continues to war it out. You might not recognize Abraham, as he fights completely different here than he has of late. This fight probably had a lot to do with his change in style. Great fight. a WAR.
Abraham is one of those fighters, whos confidence totally vanished with his first defeat. He showed his mettle here. I've seen the fight, but never in English. Wasn't on Showtime was it?
Round 1 - Abraham blocking most if not all of Miranda's punches and coming out and landing some heavy shots. Round 1 goes to Abraham no doubt 10 - 9 Round 2 - Hard round to score, Abraham opened up more but was swinging wildly and missing whilst Miranda stunned Abraham momentarily along with some low shots but Abraham finished strongly with both fighters trading after the bell. 19-19 Miranda round Round 3 - Was swaying towards Miranda to start who was busier but in the last Minute Abraham came out swinging and hurt Miranda backing him up and was more effective 29-28 AA Round 4 - Abraham holding his guard with Miranda being busier until AA lands a great shot hurting Miranda and bullies him back but loses steam in the last 20 seconds where Miranda looks busier again (Abrahams jaw dropping, looks like it was broken this round) 39-37 AA Round 5 - Miranda seems to be controlling the action however during a clinch intentionally headbutts Abraham and is deducted 2 points, Abraham comes out and dominates the latter half of the round. 10-7 round. 49-44 Abraham Round 6 - Clear Miranda round, Abraham showing a lot of heart considering his jaw is broken slipping away but is getting hit too often adding to the damage. 58 - 54 Round 7 - Miranda starting strong again but is deducted a point rather harshly for a low blow straight off the bat but keeps his punches low hitting Abrahams leg yet again and is deducted yet another point! Abraham then landing some big shots and had his moments but niether fighter landed enough (cleanly anyways) AA takes it for effectiveness. 10-7 round = 68 - 61 Round 8 - Abraham coming forward but Miranda showing better boxing and backing off to avoid Abrahams aggression whilst landing the more effective shots . 77 - 71 Round 9 - Miranda pressed most of the action but Abraham braved it and landed some big shots hurting Miranda but for me it was too little too late. 86 - 81 Miranda Round 10 - Miranda dominated this round and if it wasnt for Abraham throwing back it would have been a 10-8, incredible heart from Arthur. 95-91 Round 11 - Abraham struggling to hold on til another point is deducted for a low blow giving Abraham time to recover. Miranda forcing AA back for the remainder of the round. 9-9. 104-100 Round 12 - Miranda forces the action all round long, no brainer 113-111. Close fight but Miranda was too dirty and was rightfully deducted points for constantly hitting low and using the head. he could have won this fight if not for the fouls but no controversy, Abraham gutted it out to the end and won
Good card. Sounds about right. But sorry if I'm wrong here, but is it possible to have a 9-9 round? I thought it had to be a 10-9 round? So even though Abe lost the round, the point deduction still makes it a 10-9 Abraham round? Doesn't really change the score much, or the outcome, but I'm still just not sure about tihs, because I've heard, and seen so many takes on this.
10 point must system means that you have to award the winner 10 points however point deductions are totalled at the end of the round resulting in a 9-9 round
Same thing happened in Calzaghe-Lacy when he threw a punch behind his back (bit pointless to deduct a point in that fight) showboating but because he dominated that round it was scored a 10-9 with the deduction being taking away later.
Sorry boys I had Miranda a clear winner , this was around the time when he had just destroyed Howard Eastman. The man had four points deducted and at one point the referee stopped the action because it was getting too hard to watch. Props to AA , no problems there , but a definate home town call. Four points man, just wrong , and I watched the fight live.
I had 7-5 for Miranda, but Abraham winning based on point deductions. This was a very tough fight to score. I know Miranda fought a dirty fight, but I don't know if all those deductions were fair.
5 points actually, 2 for intentional use of the head, then 2 more points for two seperate low blows and another point later on for a low blow. Miranda was by no means a clear winner in this fight, he fouled too often and Abraham despite the injury fired back and hurt Miranda often. I scored this fight in sympathy towards Miranda giving him the benefit of the doubt in a lot of rounds to see the fight from a different point of view. No problem with the official scoring although the Ref was a little protective of Abraham due to his jaw and Mirandas constant fouling but wasnt too over the top and can be excused, Miranda is a dirty fighter and was warned early on, although the rematch removed any doubt who the better fighter was [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Aj1Tekl7oQ[/ame]
