Makes financial sense but little boxing sense.

Cotto won two rounds...and he only won those because Floyd didn't punch. I'm with Leon. I'd want to see Kirkland. Very very dangerous fight for Floyd. Kirk's going to be 165+ in the ring. Southpaw. Power. workrate. Good action fight.

Damn, if Floyd is even 75% of his prime, he stops Kirkland. If James thought Molina's defense was frustrating....

Floyds got how many fights left in him?

    legacy wise he is solidified

only two fights can truly advance his status

Manny which ive given up on

Martinez or at least a middleweight title of some sort

if its none of those 2 options then to me who cares there really isnt anybody left

Cotto gave us a good first fight it was exciting probably the most exciting floyd fight

look how cotto did in the rematch with margo......now i know its like apples and oranges but he has the new trainer new confidence and the first fight which he thought he won may add to it

another point i think too frequently we get a good fight and there arent rematches....i guess in todays world with ppv and 1 or 2 fights a yr rematches kinda suck unless it was controversy or a real war

but i think a second fight could really be good

kirkland?...interesting, even though jk lost his luster after ishida, this would be an interesting fight. that is if james can hide his chin through the fight.

however, i think if floyd fights at 154 again, it's against canelo.

Floyd is not stopping Kirkland. He can't bang at 154. Molina was holding. Whenever he didn't, Kirk had little trouble hitting him.

Kirkland has the chin of a 140 lb'er..

And Kirkland was still frustrated even when Molina wasn't holding. The fight was a stink fest, but watch again, Molina was still outboxing Kirkland for large sections of the match.

He recovers well though. Once he gets going, he takes the shots better. Doesn't matter because Floyd has never been a big puncher.

You're right, but he's accurate enough to catch Kirkland leaning in, which he has a bad habit of doing.

im not a ***** just look at my posts but i like this fight. cotto is not the same fighter any more and neither is floyd. floyd likes rematches esp when the 1st one made him look bad like castillo did. floyd also made a lot of money with cotto like 85 million, and u know floyd luvs $$$. people enjoyed their 1st fight. and now that this could be in ny, what better place to do it.

Let's hope Aydin wins on Saturday and erases the idea of a Guero fight. THAT is a fight I really don't want to see.

Yea, Floyd isn't the youngest fighter out there. I rather he beat a new fighter, Jamez Kirkland, who isn't as good as Cotto(e) than rematch someone he already thoroughly beat.

I don't see how beating Cotto(e) again would get him credit. congrats you beat him convincingly the first time. You just beat him once again?

God No. Cotto did better than Expected but no recycle bouts unless there is no other top 10 boxers around. Floyd being in jail and not eating. He may be able to fight at 130 LOL. He should fight broner.

Exactly. I don't think Floyd is fighting outside of MGM Grand Garden Arena either. :deal
