Floyd isn't going to fight Sergio str8 out of jail.

Besides, Sergio wouldn't fight again in December after recently fighting in September

Well maybe Floyd doesn't fight again this year? It's not like he fights more than once a year anyways, and signs to fight Martinez late in the fall for early next year.

    tmt?

I don't think Floyd had the option of whether to box at range or fight up close. He's been backed up by lesser fighters and I expect him to get backed up again. The difference this time might be Cotto throwing more consecutive jabs and stepping out after throwing a combination, rather than letting Floyd settle into a counter-punching rhythm in the pocket.

    It would be pointless.

    the money team

Floyd could have spun off the ropes many times he chose to lay on them and bang

Cotto didn't LET Floyd do anything. If the first fight didn't show the vast gap in their skills and abilities, you weren't watching close enough. Cotto did well, and fought hard, but he got credit for surpassing expectations...not surpassing what Floyd was doing. :deal

Truth is, that nobody seems to be talking about, Cotto hit Manny with more CLEAN shots than he hit Floyd with.

I'm a fan of both and I hope this rematch doesn't happen.

Floyd rarely ever does that. He moves along the perimeter of the ring to side-step aggressive opponents, but he almost NEVER turns a fighter laterally to open up a new offensive angle. Augustus, Chavez, Castillo, De La Hoya, Judah, and Cotto all showed Floyd would rather anticipate your shots in a linear fashion, rather than keep pivoting out.

Nobody suggested he surpassed Floyd's work in that fight..? The gap in craft and quality work simply wasn't huge enough that a victory stemming from key adjustments is unfeasible.

People underestimate Kirklands sheer physicality and relentless pressure...horrible fight for Floyd and a dangerous fight for Floyd. No way he stops James...and unless he plans to spoil the entire fight as Molina did, this could be a bad choice. Floyd duals with other "boxers" James isn't boxing ****, he's a fighter, not that being a fighter is better than being a boxer, but being the "fighter" and having 15 lbs of muscle advantage, it becomes very relevant. I'm not saying Kirkland wins, but I'm saying it's a stupid fight for Floyd to take.
