I think his best KO was against Billy Hardy, who had gone 8 rounds with Orlando Canizales in the blistering Texas sun and beaten Steven Robinson. My mouth was agape with the unorthodoxy with which he dispatched poor Billy.

I just loved the way Naz got in two more shots while Sanchez was on the way down, and the ref was already pulling Naz back. Vicious stuff :bbb

Yeah, I heard the commissioner went to check to see if Naz's gloves were loaded because of the viciousness of the KO. Sanchez had beaten Mayweather in the amateurs so he's no chump.

No overhyped fighter is ever in their prime when they lose against quality opposition. That's the argument all nuthuggers use. Naz was entertaining but come on, his biggest win was Kevin Kelly? All those videos are mostly D and C level fighters. Barrera beat that ass. No version of Hamed beats Barrera especially with the post in his favor LOL.

Watch all of them. Especially early on in his career when he was in love with the sport. At the very least you'll enjoy his knockouts. Up there as one of the greatest featherweight punchers of all time. Absolutely frightening, god-like power that saved his ass on many occasions. The most disappointing thing with him, though, is that his willingness to learn didn't match the talents he was gifted with. He fell in love with his power (and himself) and thought all he needed to do to win fights, was turn up. To see how good he could have been, watch the Robinson fight. But for entertainment, the Augie Sanchez (sickening ending) and Kevin Kelly fights would be the first I'd go to.

But really, to appreciate what a unique character he was in the sport, more is needed than to just watch old fights of his. You needed to have been around when he was fighting to experience the hysteria surrounding him (at least here in Britain, anyway). He single handedly introduced the featherweight division to big money fights. Even Mayweather, on his way up, said everyone else is on slave money compared to The Prince.

    Badly missed, he is.

Yeah loved Naz at the time, turned into a bit of a parody of himself sadly and didnt like the way he went out, not the Barrera fight, the one after, whingeing about having flu as the crowd booed him. Sad way to end it really.
That Sanchez KO is ****in brutal, one of my favourites.
