Tyson was knocked out 5 TIMES i his career. Lewis was knocked out twice. Which defeats the arguement of you bashing Lewis based on his chin.

 

Lewis beat Holyfield,Mercer,Ruddock,Grant,Tua,an old Tyson,Vitali,Morrison,beat Rahman and Mccall handly in the rematch's dont understand the logic of ur argument. Also Bowe was down and hurt against Golota he did have a super chin and Tyson even in his prime had trouble with tall boxers who fought tall and used their jab

 

Everyone acknowledges the fact that Tyson had a very short prime. He was champion in 1986. He was out of his prime by the first Holyfield fight and yet Lennox doesnt face him until years later in 2002! Emanuel Steward himself said Tyson was washed up yet Lewis wants to fight him.
The fact is Tyson was way out of his prime with very few good wins around the time when Lewis decided to fight. Lewis was offered a Tyson fight in 1996 but went elsewhere.

Tyson beat the top contenders of the 1980's outright. He didnt wait until they were 4 years past their prime or washed up and on drugs. Tyson fought them right away. Tyson beat the real best when they were actually good.

Holyfield beat Foreman,Holmes,Mercer,Rahman,Bowe,Tyson,Moorer,John Ruiz.

Holyfield beat old Foreman yes but Old Foreman was a future champ and still a top puncher with an iron chin. Holyfield beat old Holmes who was good enough to beat Mercer who gave Lewis a tough fight. Holyfield beat Rahman,a guy who one punch KO'd Lewis. Holyfield beat the multi divisional world champion Michael Moorer by knockout. Holyfield beat 3 time world champ John Ruiz and 2 time heavyweight champ Bowe.

Holyfield beat some of the same guys Lewis fought but Holyfield did it when those guys could actually fight back and were not washed up.

Lewis didnt convincingly beat Vitali. Lewis won yes but he won by circumstance. Dont lie to yourself. We all know what happened. Lewis beat Vitali because of a bad cut and ref stoppage. Lewis was losing the fight on the cards. I'm not even a Vitali fan and I know this.

Lewis best win was over Tua and Vitali. Hardly enough to be considered an ATG in the top 20.

The 90's were second only to the 70's I agree. Too bad Lewis hid from the best in England until the best were old and shot and on drugs.

 

Lennox did have a bad habit of beating the **** out of fighters from Brooklyn such as Bowe,Shannon Briggs and Mike Tyson.

Wrong. Tyson was stopped once in his prime. Tyson was clearly not the same fighter after that Buster Douglas KO loss. And Tyson lasted 10 rounds and was Ko'd by a combo not by one punch like Lewis.

Lewis was KO'd twice in his prime by Rahman (who?)
and Mccall a drug and alcohol abuser.

Tyson was Ko'd more times yes but he was only Ko'd once in his prime.

Bert Cooper almost KO'd Holyfield,yeah and? Almost means ****. What Cooper almost did is irrelevant. Holyfield came back and stopped Cooper right? So there is no point there.

 

My point is that Lewis fought formerly good fighters. Lewis waited until those guys were old and washed up and/or on drugs.

Holyfield was almost 40 and was struggling with guys like Vagh Bean. Lewis himself stated that Evander looked like a "has been."

Ruddock was a decent win ok. And I guess Golota was a decent win but Golota was a quitter anyway. A bum who never put it together.

Grant was never elite. An HBO hype job was all he was.

Morrison was HIV positive and a notorious drug and alcohol abuser when Lewis fought him.

Lewis win over Vitali was circumstantial and lucky.

Tony Tucker gave Tyson trouble even though Tyson won,Douglas picked Tyson to peices in Toyko,and even though Tyson was shot he still lost to Mcbride. Even in the fights Tyson won Mitch Green, Bonecrusher Smith all gave him trouble

The Mitch Green thing was unique because Green was a big guy who didnt want to fight or exchange. That's the only reason he wasnt KO'd.
Anyway,that stuff doesn't matter. We were on about Lewis.
