if roy jones jr was never caught then why does everyone always say he was on roids? Didnt follow boxing in the 90s too much when he was at his peak...but am a huge fan of his past fights I see on youtube. It wouldnt surprise me if he did though cause his build seemed un-natural...I'm just curious if he was natural or not.
I agree with most of your points. 1. Peterson had the juiced-up build, but they're few and far between nowadays, not like the 90s when everyone looked like that. I agree they could get away with it because there's no legit testing most of the time but boxers nowadays don't have the physical appearance of steroid use. 2. I am very familiar with what EPO is and how it works. I agree EPO would be beneficial for endurance, but nothing else. 3. - Anabolic steroids - see 1 - human growth hormone - same applies to 1 - EPO - see 2 - diuretics - I agree they could be on this, but if they wish to dehydrate themselves and endanger their wellbeing to lose a few pounds that's their business. That said, same-day weigh ins should be introduced. Problem solved. - stimulants - like what? Do you mean supplements for energy like jack3d? These are not illegal.
"a positive reading for anabolic steroid" :huh You don't test positive for something called "anabolic steroid" WHICH anabolic steroid did he test positive for? Over the past 10 years, EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER that has gotten popped for da juice, we know the EXACT anabolic steroid they tested positive for. So which one was Jones popped for?
that looks very incriminating. And like I said it wouldnt surprise me at all. But do you think that document is 100% legit? If its never been fully investigated then i'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt. Or maybe i'm just naive.
Research into the prevalence of PEDS? You're talking about people who do drugs but haven't been caught and you want research on that ?:nut You're a fat boy no doubt... "Oh I can't do something or look like something so nobody else can without cheating".... If you'd done your research you'd understand that the difference PEDS make are minuscule, in a timed sport the split seconds make the difference. Boxing hasn't even come close to catching up with advances in sports science, you think that they're at the point when the only way to improve performance is to use PEDS? 99% of boxers need to learn how to train and learn about nutrition before something like PEDS are going to make any measurable difference. You're an idiot, good day.
IIRC it was a substance that Jones claimed was in 'Ripped Fuel'. Ripped Fuel is/was common in BB circles. Its a Diuretic anyway. Personally i don't know many guys on it anymore. That said it i wouldn't have thought it contained any Steroid metabolites. More like Ephedra and such like which is usual with most diuretics and supplements that claim to boost the metabolism. I don't believe anyone knows what Steroid Jones was apparently on. That information iirc was never divulged by the commission.
I implied nothing of the sort. What he DIDN'T test positive for was an ANABOLIC steroid, but a product which as of 2000 was misclassified as an anabolic steroid. Unless you have information to the contrary. Once again, WHICH anabolic steroid did he test positive for? :huh
Yep - both he and his opponent for that fight tested positive. He claimed it was from taking a legal, over the counter substance (a common defence when people fail drugs tests) but he was over 8 times the acceptable testosterone limit.
Exactly, Ephedra. Was a banned substance at the time, no big deal. That obviously gave Jones his muscle, speed and boxing skills according to some people :nut
Ephedra is banned iirc by the food commission in the USA. Over here in the UK its not. In some rare cases some people experienced Cardiomyopathy type symptoms with apparently some deaths which led to the banning. Although i have a hard time believing that... It would help with making weight but that's the extent of all Ripped Fuel will do. I knew some guys on it back in the day that used to use it to cut up. It was a bull**** supplement anyway. People waste far too much money on that crap.
Yes, because I (a person on a boxing forum) can't name the exact steroid that Roy Jones tested positive for it means that you have proven that this test was fraudulent. Again, I don't know what you're trying to argue here / but well done.
