It was reported by several media outlets that he tested positive for Androstenedione, which isn't an anabolic steroid.

I don't recall the commission ever saying what Hormone he was on. Jones always claimed it was ripped fuel. If so diuretics are illegal. But they're hardly performance enhancers. Wasn't this against Richard Hall that lanky Jamaican? I'm sure it was. But i haven't seen that fight in a while.

Yeah definitely, people don't understand that contamination is a very real issue as well, not just an excuse.

Very true. Contamination is common place in food consumption.

So many people here in steadfast refusal to accept that their favourite fighters didn't dope.

Yep, top athletes in pretty much every sport in the world use drugs to enhance performance, but for some reason boxing is immune - despite having pretty mich the lowest standard of drug testing in sports and huge financial rewards.

Sorry, I didn't mean testosterone - in the interview I was reading it was described as steroid level.

Yeah it was Richard hall - both tested positive for anabolic steroids but people in this thread don't seem to want to accept that because either a) the letter from the commission doesn't specify exactly what steroid was present or b) because Jones said it was caused by ripped fuel

Why don't you answer the points I made in my post that you ignored? That's right, because you're talking out of your arse and claiming people are cheats for no reason. Insecure, paranoid ***git :good

Yeah I'm going to get involved in a conversation with someone like you who resorts to name calling as soon as someone has a different opinion to them. Nah, you're alright mate.

And I didnt accuse anyone of cheating exceptt Holyfield who has been implicated several times, and Jones who failed a drugs test for steroids. Other than that I said there's no reason to believe that there's any less people on steroids now than in the 90's, as there's virtually no testing. That's when you started growing your toys out of your pram and name calling like a little girl.

Here's an ESPN article identifying the so called "steroid" that he tested positive for.

    • Roy Jones Jr. and Richard Hall both tested positive for the testosterone precursor androstenedione after Jones defeated Hall to retain his undisputed world light heavyweight championship in Indianapolis in 2000. Jones insisted his test was the result of ingesting the supplement Ripped Fuel.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2782402

And here's some info on the "steroid" (that isn't a steroid) androstenedione

Well its not really a steroid level but more his male to female hormone ratio's. Commissions though have varying subjective ratio's. The average male being 1:1.

Interesting. The names a bit of a misnomer then if it doesn't contain Androgens. :think
