self-inflicted injury? THIS is a self-inflicted injury: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnXWypEHl4A[/ame]
Ok Lewis-Klitschko was a fight where Lewis was coming to the end of his career and was getting out fought by the younger challenger but managed to injure Vitali with the cut and the fight was fairly stopped. Should there have been a rematch? yes! and Lewis didnt take it (he was planning on fighting on before the fight) then he didnt want to risk taking the loss and retired. Simple as, the fight was stopped fairly and it was competitive but Lewis won and retired to avoid fighting an opponent like Klitschko which is the same thing Vitali seems to be doing with Haye by taking on Manuel Charr instead.
byrd, purrity and sanders won.... what do you mean they never got remetches? I dont get your point... since when does a winner of a fight DEMAND a rematch from the loser?
As long as both K bros are the champs, there are going to be plenty of people that try and bring down their accomplishments because they are jealous or they don't like them beating up their own fighters.
Lewis rematches Rahman but he took Rahman to court to get the rematch. And Lewis won in court because he has a rematch clause in his !!!!! contract!!! Wladimir has no rematch clause in the contract (his promoter was Universum Boxpromotion) with Puritty and Sanders. Sanders dropped the WBO and he wants to fight Lewis for the WBC. After Lewis retired Sanders fought for the vacant belt and lost.
