Bute vs Grachev in November

I don't like it but he might need a easier fight after getting battered by Froch.
Pavlik would've been a more bold and perfect choice for me, US exposure, not in his prime anymore, still a massive name that you could brag in defeating (unlike Grachev). And in my view if he still wanted to prove he belongs next to those as Froch, Kessler and Ward he needed at least to beat a guy like Kelly who still got something left and was dangerous enough.

 

Stevenson would've been second best choice for the Canadian fans attraction and his power who would've given us a little intrigue(Can Bute handle it).
Choosing between A. Green and Grachev there isn't much of a difference in my eyes.
I was surprised Froch chose Tommy. Who's decent but quite green and has a shaky defense. Both guys seems like they have taken easier fights thinking of the rematch. Froch could have taken on Kessler, Pavlik but chose the young gun.

 

Pavlik could come into the ring stoned on a case of XXX and still have faar greater handspeed than Grachev.

Froch is a standup fighter with an IRON chin. Uses angles to get inside and hits like a freight train. Perhaps I used the word plodding, but I never suggested that Froch was anything less than world level.

I think Pavlik should have jumped at this opportunity. He'd have made similar $$$ if he got the title fight with Froch, but actually has that punchers chance vs Bute. Grachev vs Bute is going to look like Briggs vs Vitali.(except with 2 much smaller guys)
The reason Bute got starched like he did vs Froch is b/c he refused to roll from Frochs shots. He refused to play the CPer. And his defesne consisted of draping himself over Froch whenever Carl tagged him.
Not saying Froch would not have gotten him outta there later, or even earlier, but the Bute Ive watched in 20+ fights did not show up in Knottingham....that is the fighter. The buddy/buddy Bute was there to be an ambassador for Interbox, trying to build his fanbase by being Mr Nice Guy.:-(

Pavlik drank away 3 yrs of his career, but to consider him past prime is taking it a bit far.

Consider Pavlik vs Abe or Steiglitz. He takes either of those fights and he's a world champ again.

Pavliks size and style would never be suited to beat Froch, Ward, or Kessler....but he'd beat Taylor 10/10 times whether he was 25 or 45 :think

Also, Green is a worthless bum and always has been. If he was some random guy from Kazakhstan or some **** you would've never even heard of this zero.

If he keeps fighting these kind of guys now wonder that Wladimir didn't heard of Bute when asked by Romanian press.

Bute's marketing team have done a fantastic job here. Frank ****** himself would be proud:

- Get him another outing against a typically mediocre opponent to rekindle the Canadian Housewives Brigade's (CHB) faith in him

- Bute does what he does against these kind of opponents and wins

- CHB go crazy declaring that "the real Lucian is back!" "Bring on Froch!" "This time Lucian won't try to make friends with Carl!" "Bute by left uppercut to the body KO"

- Thousands of gullible housewives with damp drawers fill the Bell Centre to witness the resurrection of their Lord Lucian against Carl 'The Talking Cobra' Froch

- Lucian gets his ass beat off into the sunset with one last paycheck to see him into retirement

- Canada's population drops by 15% as Canadian Housewives take part in the largest suicide pact the world has ever seen

 

Is that for the big transplant with the same guy that did Elton's?

I'm sure that Bute's team made offers to Pavlik, De Geale , Green and others but probably they weren't agree with the venue & declined their offer !
Anyway this fight is a good fight preparation for the rematch with Froch ! The idea was to look for a fighter with a similar style and heavy handed as Froch.:yep
