Yeh. I was interested in hearing what they had to say, as they were also at Joels last fight (as was I), in which we all thought Joel lost.
Being there live dont really mean much, why do u think that judges review disputed disscisons via video footage? being there live you can get caught up in the hype or as someone pointed out during a mundine bout, the judges can be intimidated by fans.
Your two mates should stick to mid strength beer in future. If they thought Brunker won they are either biassed or haven't got a clue. I thought Brunker's opponent Riovalle looked the better of the two Mexicans. He'd have given Dib a much tougher fight than Rodriguez.
I didn't post because I wanted to debate who's right or wrong, I just posted an observation. As for my mates having a clue, one of them is an AM boxer himself, so I do value his opinion. As for bias, sure, we are biased as all 3 of us know Joel quite well, however all 3 of us also felt he lost his last fight, which we were all present at, so shared the same opinion. It is possible to be biased and still be objective. That's not to say I don't value the opinions here, but it seems clear to me it's not as black and white as some believe.
Understand where you're coming from Sox. You should try to find the fight and have a look at it. The most surprised person at the venue was Joel Brunker when the Ref held his hand aloft.
While we're all going back over old ground I'd agree that the Ref never got off the Mexican's back all night. He carried on like a complete goose.
I had it 77-74 for the Mexican. I watched it on mute can't stand when Andy Raymond and co talk there dribble.
