And as Bathory mentioned and you well know, Golota's jab was a thing of the past.

I'll tell you what though. I'd still love to know the whole ****ing story of what the **** Golota was doing before that Lewis fight! :rofl

Golota kicked Bowe's ass so hard in those ones.

 At Foreman calling Bowe the bravest fighter in the heavyweight division since Ali.

I've often wondered that myself. I've heard different stories.

IMO one of the worst tragedies in Golota's career is showing up for Lewis cold and unprepared. I'm not saying Golota would have beatin' Lewis by any means. But he could have given us fans a damn good battle to watch. This was a 29 year old Golota in his physical prime. Had he showed up as prepared and confident as he did against Bowe, could have been a hell of a great fight!

To Bowe's credit, he was extremely brave and dare I say great in the rematch. Bowe got floored and then got the living **** beat out of him in that second round, only to survive and then mount a remarkable come back in the 3rd and 4th round. Then to stay on his feet after getting pounded for the rest of the fight was pretty amazing. Although dumb. The fight should have been stopped after the 7th.

After winning that daft MMA thing with Bowe, Golota should call out Tyson Fury! :deal

I posted at the old Ultimate Golota Homepage as well. Started posting there just after the Lewis fight (when I discovered the internet...) so it must of been around late '97 or early '98. Those were the days, I remember how excited I got to see the NEWS section had been updated.

Yep! The News page would sometimes remain in an un-updated state for months at a time, and when it was updated it always got me fired up!

I remember one time, I believe after the Grant debacle, there was an update stating something to the effect:

"Golota has recently agreed to fight one of the Klitschko brothers, provided he doesn't have to face both at the same time" or some other over the top corny joke.

I also remember the horror of seeing the site closed down after the Tyson fight!

    :rofl

I don't remember what the exact ****ing message was, but I remember desperately looking for news, and only finding the site was finished!!

The Golota Express here (I believe the first of 3 versions here, between the two major crashes) felt a lot like the Ultimate Golota Forum days, especially in the lead-up and aftermath of the Byrd fight, and then again leading all the way up to the Brewster fiasco.

Old school posters like Gillberg even emerged from hiding!

Sadly, the book is all but closed now, and so convinced we were that Golota would win a title, and officially it never happened. It was one disaster after another, and yet for some odd reason, the Golota faithful always wanted to see him succeed.

Amazing to think that guys like us, JETSKI, LouFatski, and several others have been posting in the same boxing forums for 15 years!

If you remember, there were not a whole lot of web pages back then, but in addition to the Ultimate Golota site, there was an Andrew Golota KO Corner (or something like that), and I think there may have even been two other sites dedicated to Golota.

It was so many jobs ago that I was posting at work on the Ultimate Golota Message Board. Time flies, and all of the guys that were on top of the boxing world back then are mostly done.

And all of these years later, we never got the RJJ-DM fight, which was a hot topic over there for so long, too.

    Well...

The Ultimate Golota Forum from the late 90s or where many of us came from.

And there were TWO previous versions of the Golota Express here before the 2 big crashes.

It, of course, peaked from the 2003 Nix comeback to the 2005 Brewster debacle.

Even Gilberg was here then, as RuizGrabNJab and SugarWladdy as I recall!
