Nobody is talking abut Canelo going up against an ATG here, so i dont know where you get this from. as for people easily being blinded by hype, you are correct about that; Just take a look at Broner for example.
Cotto for me takes this, providing it's the same Cotto that turned up against Mayweather, i think he'd have a field day against a much less elusive, slower Canelo
Alvarez is too big and strong for Cotto. Canelo right now beat Miguel worse than he beat Jose Miguel.
I don't think Cotto is a special or even great fighter, but he's far and away better than anyone Alvarez has been in with. If he's getting outboxed by guys like Alfonso Gomez and Cintron, he's going to have serious trouble with Cotto.
i hope youre trying to be funny otherwise you need to **** off to another sports forum that was jose cotto, miguels brother
Naw, they're crispy enough. I don't think anyone's tested Canelo the way Cotto would test him. If Canelo had been in a fight where he was really pushed and had to take himself to another level, then I'd pick him.
I'd favor Canelo. I still don't believe Cotto can handle pressure well and would fold against a pressure fighter with a sustained beating. Styles make fights, Cotto looked decent against Floyd who was backing up all night and isn't a pressure fighter but still managed to rock Cotto in the 12th. I say Canelo would TKO Cotto mid to late rounds.
This is Cotto of '12/2013 not the same as before. Alvarez has every advantage in the ring Vs. Cotto including having the bigger punch & better chin & that weight class. Cotto will be game like always and put on a hell of a show, Just don't see him holding up against the kid. Miguel did look impressive Vs. Floyd agreed, but once Mayweather decided to open up & trade with Cotto... Miguel took a lot of shots & was wobbled in the later rds.
Mayweather's accuracy is what's harmful to Cotto. Miguel actually defended himself pretty well, and would have less to worry about from a slower Alvarez. I think the key is the jab of Cotto. Alvarez hasn't shown yet that he can establish the jab in a fight, and I doubt the one he does have is able to register when matched with Cotto's. If the PR native can establish his jab and dictate the rythm of the fight to the younger Mexican, then Alvarez may be like a fish out of water.
you do have a way with words canelo often waits for his opponent to jab before he throws, it is not easy to time cottos jab as he lunges in with it
