Msley got over excited. He also wasn't on BALCO like he was against Oscar so no endless stamina for him :yep

He may have been faster in his prime with more power but that doesn't mean he would have had the same opportunity to land the punch in his prime. For example let's say me and you were to fight this year and I landed a right hand which was a clean and stunned you, if we where to fight 10 years ago, I may not have that same opening and opportunity to land that shot.

In the actual fight De La Hoyas jab troubled Mayweather, who
had trouble slipping it. Then Oscar tired, and mayweather adapted.
Prime for prime, factor in Oscars left hook one of the quickest
and sharpest coupled with that jab. Mayweather is getting dropped
along the way. Oscar UD 116 to 112. Personally Im more intrigued
by a lightweight match, but thats me.

Cant believe Floyd fans according to them Floyd would beat

    Marvin Hagler
    Tommy Hearns
    Ray Leonard
    Ray Robinson
    Roy Jones Jr
    Henry Armstrong
    Pernell Whitaker

    All in the Prime.

What a ****ing joke some fans of this sport are.

Is is really BS all together. It is just fantasy matchups. No ones opinion means more than the other.

You can't be serious. Those guys are MUCH better than Oscar. He is nowhere close to them in competence, reliability, and consistency.

Picking Floyd Mayweather to beat Oscar is no stretch.

Technically the last thing to leave a fighter is punching power. So I dont see how Oscar lost any pop off his punches. I think people need to be a bit more realistic about this scenario.

No one's saying floyd is unbeatable. And no one's saying oscar wasn't great.

Prime Oscar vs 2007 Floyd - I give the edge to Oscar.

Prime vs Prime (at a compromisable weight) - I gotta give it Floyd. He had the fastest hands in boxing. And as good as Oscar was, he could definitely be out boxed.

Either way, it would be a close fight. No one's walking through anything.

Got to agree that Oscar would win. He was past his best and he'd only fought 3 times in as many years leading up to that fight. Hopkins in 2004, Mayorga in 2006 after nearly two years out of the ring, and then Floyd in 2007. So he'd been inactive, and he didn't have the stamina in the final stretch.

I think a 27/28 year old version of Oscar definitely beats Floyd.

It's funny how most of the biggest Calzaghe haters are Floyd dick suckers and will go on and on how a prime BHop or RJJ (which I do believe a prime RJJ would wreck Calzaghe) would beat the **** out of Calzaghe and that they fought him when they were shot, yet when a shot ODLH takes 5 rounds off their boy, he would seemingly do worse in his prime!

Get the **** outta here. I'm no ODLH fan but prime for prime he works Floyd. If an old and shot to **** ODLH could hang with a prime or almost prime Floyd then a prime Hoya works the **** out of him.

Like Turbo said, the voting results have spoken.

Floyd is definitely a highly skilled fighter, for sure, but he gets way overrated by has fanboys and most others. It's much easier to look like an ATG when you never fight an "A" level fighter in their prime, which Floyd never did. ODLH was an "A" level fighter, who also fought multiple "A" level fighters in their prime. ODLH makes easy work of Floyd.
