    top 80

he began his career very young. he lost some, but sticked to trainind, he was a training beast and he always came in super duper shape.

he looked good vs a atg top 10 and beat a atg top 40, although he probably cheated.

still, for me margarito will always be a warrior who is easily a top 100.

Funny looking back at this article. In it, Graham Houston writes Margartio beats a peak De La Hoya by KO12, Tito Trinidad in 6, Wilfred Benitez in 10, and Pipino Cuevas in 8.

Antonio Margarito might be one of the best welterweights of our generation, but how would he have fared against the best 147-pounders in boxing history?

I have him above Resto. Margarito was able to accomplish more with his wraps.

Who was chased for a year and a half by Paul Williams for a rematch... of a fight Paul won the first time, nonetheless. :patsch Some ****ing warrior!

Instead of avenging a loss that he whined and complained about, he ducked and picked a fight with an old washed-up Shane Mosely, who everyone knew he would KO into retirement. Oops!

Nice find. I agree with Hearns, Leonard, Dela Hoya, and Griffith. I disagree with Trinidad and Benitez.

I agree the article is terrible in retrospect, but it's still interesting to see how people thought of fighters a few years ago, not realizing what would unfold a few months later. :good
