All in all, the only one, when all is said and done, that a considerable amount of people will hold anything against him on is the Pac fight, I think, and let's be honest, the better part of those people favoured Mayweather if the fight ever had happened.

Edit: And, on top of that, I think before too long most will be remembering it as an Arum fault more than a Floyd or Pac fault.

It doesn't matter. He didn't win the first fight convincingly and everyone wanted to see the second one.

Many had Hagler winning the 1st bout actually.

Ray just dodged because he knew he wasn't going to get him again.

? Are their careers over? Nope.

Ray waited until Hagler was way passed his prime to take the 1st bout.

I still say Mayweather/Pacquiao will happen next year, especially now that TMTPromotions is promoting Mayweather.

Good chance we'll see it imo.

Pac and Floyd will never fight. People need to realize this.

He would have probably won Fighter Of The Decade.

Sure, that's why they fight the fights, but sometimes fights don't get made and that's why you don't judge legacies solely on the making of one or two fights when many good fights were made, which in Floyd's case, he's fought a championship name nearly twenty times and was the clear victor without doubt in nearly every one. It's not as if we have nothing else but a fight that didn't happen to judge his caliber.

I've always said, the entire Pacweather rivalry is more of a media rivalry than anything. The majority of their careers, by a long distance, were already over by the time a fight between them was even proposed. So, the fight not happening, to me, is only distasteful, not a great tragedy or a big mark against their careers.

Regardless, it's going to come up for years that Floyd was favoured, because that's what we'll have, in place of the fight. The regard for the match-up from the people of the time. And the majority favoured Floyd. It's a definite talking point.

so you feel that before 2009 floyd had already solidified his atg'ness to where he is now? i just have trouble giving floyd full credit when he missed out on so many bouts due to money or whatever

Yellow: To where he is now? That would mean that I am not really giving him credit for his fights since then, which would be silly. But, he has clearly, and I mean quite clearly had the majority of his accomplishments and career highs prior to 2009. And they were quite clearly high-level stuff.

Green: :huh Which bouts? Let's address them. Or, we could focus on the very, very high number of bouts that actually did take place if we wanted to be extra crazy...

He's an ATG, but he could've been much higher.

Even when if/it does happen, who gives a ****

Let's dig up Burley and Robinson and throw them on the undercard and bill it the "Who Gives Less of a ****" PPV brought to you by GBP and TMT.

I'll have the doctors bring me out of my cryostasis chamber and watch the gawdamn wheeled-walker-fight between the two at the nursing home, where Bob Arum takes bets, in his android body. It'll be a hell of a match, then.
