Is Andre Ward more or less getting a pass for disgracefully bringing Chad Dawson...

all the way down to the 168lb limit and not only that but also forcing him to fight in Oakland :patsch? my respect level for Dawson has gone up as it's clear Ward was probably trying to duck Dawson by demanding the fight be at 168lb and in his own backyard but Dawson wanting to fight the best agreed to all of Ward's ridiculous demands anyway.

Yes, he is getting a pass for it. Apparently it's ok because Dawson offered to come down.

But Cotto (reluctantly) agreeing to fight Pacquiao@145lbs and Margarito agreeing to fight Pacquiao@150lbs is not ok :think

Dawson called him out at 168. He's not making Dawson do anything. He won't get as much credit if he wins though because of it.

Dawson was the one that called out Ward and said he'd come down to 168. Oh and Chad can't draw flies to **** but Ward is huge in the Bay area. Should this fight be ar MSG with 5k people or in Oakland in a sold out area?

And how is Ward ducking him? They are going to fight. And even if they weren't how can Ward duck someone in the division above his own? Get a clue idiot.

That's right. It's not ok. Even though Pacquiao himself was coming up. He was meeting at a halfway point. Unlike Ward, who's staying where he is.

True, but Dawson is a desperate, nobody. He'd say or do anything to get a shot at someone like Ward.

Just like Martinez was desperate to come down to 150 for Pacquiao. If Pac accepted that, everyone would have been shitting on him. The same way they would have shitted on him if he beat up Mosley at 140 back in 2009 when Mosley offered him out.

I'm just happy there is a big fight happening, every lb what Ward would have went up would have added a little bit of shine to the potential victory, but if Dawson don't lose too much going down this could be an impressive victory.

Well, it's partly picking on Pacquiao for some. Never mind that it was also Cotto's biggest payday at that point.

Dawson could have stayed at 175lbs & beat some more old men. Instead he takes on one of the best p4p guys in his hometown & at his own weight.

Both guys deserve credit for making this fight.

Even if Dawson loses he still has his 175lb title, smart move by Chad imo
