Is Andre Ward more or less getting a pass for disgracefully bringing Chad Dawson...

Thats a good desperation to have ,Going after the best ..Thats the only way you become greater by going after the best in their prime .I respect Chad he didn't chose to pad his record ,he chose to go after the best SMW on the planet.. And its a little diffrent coming dowon from 175 to 168 as opposed to 160 to 150 ..But don't get me wrong Chad is an idiot for agreeing to come down ..I mean its not a catch weight ,he's just moving down 1 division ..But still not the smartest of moves .

Good point Arcane. Not only that, but some of those people would be the first to tell you that Pac fought a "Weight-drained" Cotto, who weighed a whole 1 pound heavier in his prior weigh-in against Clottey. Also, Cotto was shot at that point before becoming unshot almost three years later against Floyd.

At the moment Ward is America's golden boy and is allowed to get away with anything he wants.
America has had a painfull time watching Calzaghe beat all of their top SMWs, and now Calzaghe has retired other names can come through and they are trying to pretend that Ward compares to the best ever, which is ridiculous.
Chad has no pedigree at SMW, and has made a name fighting old fighters and losing to Pascal, but when Ward easily beats him, the hype will go through the roof

Too much of a big deal is made out of weights. This fight is intriguing and whatever the result, either win would be a good one. Dawson for coming down and beating a future pound for pound star in his prime and Ward for handling an awkward bigger guy. Both wins would be impressive and I don’t think we should be too hung up on the weight. The same goes for Pacquiao’s wins over Cotto and others. Its embarrassing watching fans quarrel over 2 or 3 measly pounds.

Do you think Ward is a stay at home fighter .
Cant see how Ward can eclipse anyone fighting leftovers.
Chad is awful against top comp. Ward wins easily

lol Ward already almost ranks above Slappy. and he's avoided no one and not waiting for the great SMW's to be past primed like Slappy.

Prime Roy and a younger Hopkins wouldve whooped him. u know it, i know it. :hi:

    Didn't know that.
    All good for boxing then.:good

Just made me laugh when Ward always stayed at home in the super 6 while Kessler & co were filling arenas...

Guess that for once, victory was more important than money.

He does beat Chad with ease  Dawson got a gift decision against Johnson and lost to Pascal, he's hardly the deity you make him out to be. Who knows what the future holds, but right now Ward has a long way to go before you can he's achieved what Calzaghe did

Nope he went to AC to beat Froch :D

Left over fighters ? I didn't know Joe fought Froch ..And Chad is awful against top comp ? Didn't he beat Hopkins with ease ? You know the guy that Joe struggled with who actually dropped him ..More selective memory I see .He also beat the guy that Joe ducked with ease in a rematch in Glen Johnson ..What about Ademek ? Yeah more of that selective memory I see !

:patsch After Dawson beat Hopkins, it was Dawson that issued the challenge to Ward...Dawson was the one who said that he would come down to 168 , so what is the point of this thread?

How are you faulting Ward, when its clearly Dawson's idea.:-(

Look I already know both you and Failey DNSAB ! Both of you picked Bute to steam roll over Froch ..We all know how that went ..Any more wonder predictions from you too  And all Joe has over Ward is title defenses and thats it ! Resume please Ward will eclipse that with his fight with Chad !
