Why does Chad Dawson get a pass for fighting shot old fighters time and time again?

anoyther great example proving members on here arent even boxing fans. real fans couldnt ever show the ignorance glaring day in day out, post in post out.

dawson is one of the very few who never ducks and who wants the top guys all the time. I havent ever seen chad close to losing. WTF he beat the **** out of pascal. ANYONE who claims pasc should have won LOST any credibility they might have still had, i doubt there was any left anways.
people LEARN how to score then tell me 5 rounds pac won. impossible, nevermind he was out on his feet and ready to be KTFO. dawson broke him down and KO'd that dude. one of dawsons most complete performances. i know posters on here are beyond lost when it comes to boxing BUT try to learn smg, anything about it so u have a clue when viewing matches.

I'm assuming your attempting to purposely look at your analysis without proper perspective. My point is both men have fought who was availible and who was at the very least ranked in their division. Both men have done a decent job at entering the ring with fighters that impact their overall status within their respective divisions. Lets not forget Chad actually traveled way up north to school a prime Adamek....Chad has an impressive pedigree but I wouldnt expect you to recognize that while wearing your "I heart Joe" sunglasses.

 

I didn't think Dawson got a pass for facing older guys, its been one of the biggest knocks against him. I've seen numerous people mention they'd like to see Dawson start facing younger guys.

Even with that complaint about their age, the guys Dawson beat were some of the best in the division at the time. Hopkins, Tarver, and Johnson were old and past their best but they were still good fighters and highly rated.

Dawson has also fought Adamek, Pascal, and now Ward so its not like all his best opponents are past their best. He's only 30 as well so he has several peak years left in him and I'm sure there will be plenty of younger fighters he'll face.

 

You would rather have Dawson fight weaker lower tier competition? At the time that Dawson fought Tarver twice, and Johnson twice, they were both legit top 4 guys at 175. Hopkins while much older is still probably the second best 175 pounder. I don't see your complaint. Cloud was around, but Cloud hadn't fought anyone yet back when Dawson fought Tarver and Johnson twice.

Calzaghe would have ****ed up Dawson in ways you guys can't imagine.

Calzaghe dominated the Americans in the way Lewis dominated the Americans and in a way the Kbros are doing.

But hey this is your logic right?

When Calzaghe is dominating the division is ****. THE MOMENT some German American name Andre Ward becomes semi good, the division is now 'hot and back'.

The heavyweight division is your historical superstar division, but the moment Americans suck at it, it becomes a 'nobody division' and the midget weights are now 'the flagship'.

The HW Division is in a weak era and have horrible fighters outside of K2, but it's still the flagship.

Also Calzaghe beat up a LHW Prime Hopkins. Hopkins had 2 primes.

His middleweight Prime and his LHW Prime. His LHW Prime came a lot later.

WTF do they know about Lennox Lewis, Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe? They only care about Broner and Floyd and some Flipino Midget.

Everybody got their own preferences. Bailey's is Joe Calzaghe, but his boxing knowledge far outshine the boxing knowledge of Floyd or Broner or Pacquaio fans.

At SMW he was ducking Kessler, Lacy who were young and up and coming.
Adamek was a nobody LHW champ who twice went life and death with P Briggs who was KOd by a jab

 

He didnt. Dawson was a mandatory for Calzaghe and went up to LHW to fight a few nobodies and is now going back down to SMW
