Why does Chad Dawson get a pass for fighting shot old fighters time and time again?

Dawson didnt have to skip 168lbs all those years back only to move back now the division is weaker than it has been for years

I agree coulda woulda shoulda, but didnt and now he is fighting a lesser SMW than the previous eras top SMW.
Chad didnt have to move up and then drop back

Can't knock Chad for chasing the glory now can you?

You're blaming Chad for fighting an a so called weak era?

LOL, Bailey is a Joe C fan who just happened to be a boxer. the guy knows a lot of info about Joe C and anything within mile of him. He constantly creates these type of threads trying to discredit other fighters (who could be considered a threat to Joe's legacy) trying to raise the profile of Joe.

Jeff is right, the guy is nothing more than a master troll (at least he is good at it). Real boxing fans have a broad knowledge of the sport and tend to focus on certain aspects from time to time. Failey is the only "fan" (and I use that word very loosely) of boxing who is a fan of one boxer above the sport. Therefor, I really do not consider him a boxing fan at all.

Failey's obsession with Joe is undermined by a lot of different things but mainly its the truth that Failey has a hard time overcoming

I think Joe must be your obsession because this thread is about Dawson, who Im not sure why you would think he is a threat?

What a conveniently naive post on your part.

No by fighting arguable the best fighter within the 168lbs 175lbs range in Ward.

He could have fought the best at 168lbs previously. Though I admit for a young Dawson that would have been a huge task

How can I be a troll by stating a fact about the age of the fighters Dawson fought?

oi bailey, give Dawson some slack. Dawson has been a nobody in America for a while now. Here is my opinion:-

    He
    This content is protected
wanted to make a name for himself in America, and fighting in the Euro dominated SMW division wouldnt have helped his cause.

Tarver is a big name that would bring recognition. So was Glen Johnson. But Dawson didnt look spectacular enough in those fights to make a name for himself.

He also wanted to fight Joe Calzaghe, but Calzaghe wanted to retire. It aint like he wanted to fight these old guys, these were the best business/promotional fighters available.

Im sure you will agree the Hopkins fight was justified.

Regardless, lets look at the LHW division and see which young fighters Dawson could have fought:-

Erdei, Campillo, Murat, Clev, Henry, Shumenov, Mack > These lot aint any better than Tarver Johnson and Hopkins. And next he is fighting one of the best in Andre Ward.

    ------------------------------------
I see your argument is Why did Dawson duck the SMW division?

This can be only answered by opinion. And in my opinion, I think it was to base a strong American following and the LHW division was more American while the SMW division was more Euro.

But forget all that, Why did Calzaghe fight RJJ instead of Chad Dawson?

or Why did Calzaghe retire instead of fighting Chad Dawson?

or Why did Calzaghe duck Dawson to sniff cocaine? these are better questions.
