However you did read then the first part of the article, which means it was written years ago. Regardless of the content in the article which is subjective, it shows the real point. People always thinking that the current era is the weakest. They were doing it then, and again now. That's boxing for ya.

You say that as if Lewis decides exactly when and where they fight. He wanted Tyson for years and probably deeply regretted that it took so long for the fight to happen.Lewis beats any post 92 Tyson so it's a pretty irrelevant argument.
As for Evander, were you around at the time? Do you know how difficult it was to unify titles then?Analysts were often speaking of their fears that Don King would prevent any HW champion(outwith his own, obviously) unifying.
As for my other queries,I suspect the lack of an answer is your answer, and I'm not being shitty. You have a valid opinion that I disagree with and you're not bumping your gums with the usual bull**** that you usually see in anti-Lewis threads,so I'm doing my best to keep things above the belt here.

    You are moronic.

Let me give you a timeline for you to memorize and write down.
    Lennox Lewis Debut 1989.

Very fast rise to elite level. 90-91
Gary Mason to Razer Ruddock - Everyone thought he was heading towards an early prime.

For one reason or another, he started regressing after Ruddock. I blame it on the fact he had so much hope placed in the unification fight with Bowe. When that was cheated from him, he lost focus.

    Ruddock to MC-CALL 1.
Steady Regression, he still beat Bruno based on pure skills and courage, but the regression compare to his Ruddock Days was clear to see.

    Pick Up Steward
    95-97.
Regaining confidence, regaining skills, heading towards his true prime.
    Physical peak during this time.

97-Golota to end of 2000. David Tua:
Continuation of Physical Prime, he now enters his boxing prime.
His physical peak was around 95-98. He was no longer in his physical prime after 98, but his boxing prime continued up until the end of 2000.

    2001
Rahman 1- Way Past Physical Prime. Slightly past boxing prime. Zero-Motivation. Under Trained.

Rahman 2- Way Past Physical Prime. Past Boxing prime. But HIGHLY MOTIVATED. Very well trained.

Tyson- Way Past Physical Prime. Pretty past boxing prime.
Highly motivated, very well trained. Combine that with a shot Tyson and Lewis looked great.

Vitali- Way Past Physical Prime, semi retired, way past boxing prime.
Won on pure courage, skills, determination, and a bit of luck.

    Bottom Line.
Most boxing pundits have Lewis ranked in the top 10.

You can write out intelligent paragraphs all you want, the truth is laid out in stone.

The whole article is ****. Typical butthurt American propaganda that was being pushed out by the Yanks at the time.

Only in the later years was appreciation pushed his way by the American media.

Lewis is ridiculously overrated by some boxing fans. He wasn't even the best HW of the era - Holyfield, and arguably Tyson, both did more. And you never saw those guys taken out early by second tier comp when they held the title.

He's overrated as **** by brittards.

He has no lengthy dominance because not only is his chin bad, he doesn't know how to protect it.

Great article that summarizes the weak "career" of Lennox The Fraud Lewis. How easy it was to show how unspectacular he was WITHOUT even mentioning the biggest black mark on his career: The fact that he retired with his tail between his legs, wimpering at the thought of fighting the first good man he faced who is as big as he is. :deal
