Khan, who now has a record of winning 26 of his 29 professional fights, with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, will return to the ring on December 15 on HBO Championship Boxing – with no opponent or venue confirmed as of yet.

Looking forward to London 2012!


Hey guys,

So we’re on the brink of the Olympics and London 2012, and I’mreally looking forward to the Games. It’s going to be a really special Olympicsand so much effort has been put in to make it a huge success.

I’m fortunate enough to be an official ambassador for London2012 and I’ll be watching a lot of the events in person. I’ll be doing commentaryfor BBC on the boxing which I’m really looking forward to. Team GB have areally good chance of picking up some medals with the talent in this boxing squad.

Both the men’s and women’s teams are packed with some realquality and I hope that they can all do really well. Anthony Joshua looks areal prospect and I really think he can pick up the gold, he’s certainly onethat other countries will be wary of. There’s a host of other talentedyoungsters like Anthony Ogogo, Andre Selby and Luke Campbell, all whom I thinkwill do really well.

The women’s team is just as skilled with Nicola Adams,Natasha Jonas and Savannah Marshall – who has been marked out after her greatdisplays over the last year. For me it’s just great to see the countryproducing so many talented fighters because when I fought in Athens in 2004 I rememberit was just me on the team.

In the amateur game nothing is bigger than the Olympics, it’sthe stage everyone wants to compete on. You just need to take the wholeexperience in your stride and take it step-by-step. That’s how I handled it.You don’t want to look to far ahead or overlook the guy in front of you becauseyou only get one chance. The guys (and girls) just need to stay calm and makesure they’re relaxed, and realise what got them to that stage. I’ll be givingmy full support to all our competitors and hope that we can make a huge impactin everything that we compete in!

Team USA were training at my gym in Bolton ahead of the Olympicsand it was a real honour for us to be hosting them. There are some giftedindividuals amongst them and I know how eager they are to impress in theOlympics after a couple of poor showings in recent years. Don’t forget this isthe country that has produced the likes of ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard, Oscar De LaHoya and Roy Jones Jr in recent years. I wish them all luck and would like tothank them for coming to Bolton and using Gloves gym as their base.

This Olympics has really got the country buzzing and thereare so many different events going on it’s a shame I won’t be able to catchthem all! I would love to see Usain Bolt run the 100m and I’m definitely goingto try and get along to see him. A lot of famous faces are expected over thenext month and ‘The Greatest’ on of all Muhammad Ali was in town recently whichwas nice to see.

The Olympics brings so many different countries and culturestogether which is fantastic, and to play a small role in the build up like Idid when I carried the torch through Bolton is such a privilege, and one I won’tever forget, because what the Games mean to so many people.

London 2012 is reallygoing to be something special and I would like to take the chance to wisheveryone taking part the very best of luck.

I think Hatton want's to win a title at WW i.e. Paulie. Khan has no title and tbh beating Khan at this stage of his career where he is vulnerable would mean nothing to his legacy.

Adam Booth would be a safe bet considering he is based at home and would teach him how to fight on the backfoot intelligentally.. **** Mayweather Senior, he played around with Hatton was late for training etc etc.. Steward would bring back the basic fundamentals to his game which he needs..he needs to learn how to be patient and break down his opponents gradually throughout the fight. Either of them 2 could do the job

 

I think Khan has never been taught the fundamentals of boxing. His trainers were so amazed by his handspeed that they forgot to teach him the basics. Khan has survived purely on his handspeed, heart and workrate.

He has a non-existant inside game (probably because he didn't go through the convential british level fighting route as here he would have had to slug it out in the pocket), poor ring i.q., ability to adapt etc. I mean there are so many flaws with him that it suprizes me how far he has come regardless of his flaws. Credit to him.

Someone needs to iron these flaws out... we all knew since his ITV days that he couldn't adapt-couldn't fight inside and had an average chin. If he becomes fluid and actually adopts a patient approach things will be better. Only he can prove the haters wrong and climb back onto the ladder.

That said he's still rated #2 at LWW. Atleast he doesn't give up when things get tough... he just needs someone to explain to him that boxing is better than brawling. Don't fight for the fans... cos they are the one's saying you're washed up and saying racist remarks.

Let's see what happens.
