    I would put him behind Pac and May, but certainly one of the very best

    No hes not the best of this or any other era you want to include him.

    Nope. Feasting on B and C level fighters and smaller guys moving up does not win you that accolade. He's a great fighter for sure but people get carried away. Lost to Jones, Calzaghe and taylor X2 and there are plenty of other very good fighters around during his middleweight days that aren't on his CV. They can't all have been ducking him surely? Then there is his negative style and propensity to use dirty tactics whenever possible. His success at LHW proves he shouldn't have been avoiding fights with the big names around him at SMW and it would of thrown up some great matches. Hopkins V Toney anyone? Vs Benn? Collins? G-Man, Nunn? Instead we get a blown up trinidad and DLH.

    That's not hating on B-Hop. Just simply the truth. he has had some great achievements and is rightfully a HOF lock but the best of a generation? Surely not.

    Let me clarify, many fans site the fact Bhop number of MW defenses...beating prime young opponants Pavlik,Pascal, Oldest fighter to win a legit championship...avenged loss to Roy Jones...

    Some fans state Roy and Floyd ducked figthers...and Pacquiao has questionable victories post 130lbs (David Diaz weak champ,) Catch weights, fighters coming off losses...etc

    One of the best fighters but not the best.

    He has those 2 losses to Taylor when he was still at his best.
    The Calzaghe loss and being outclassed by RJJ make him not the best of this era.

    Certainly up there though.

    Floyd, Pacquiao, prime RJJ, would be ahead of him along with maybe a few others.

    Whoever took that fight serious is a straight up clown.

    And i'll say it again Hopkins is not the best of this or any other era.

    Depends what you define as his "era". I'd consider him the best of the last 10 years probably. In his own prime I believe he was outshined by RJJ.

    I think the rematch with Roy Jones jr shows the kind of fighter Hopkins is.

    I litterally did not see Bernard Hopkins land one clean punch on Roy Jones jr.
    Every damn punch was either behind the head or bellow the belt and then there were the headbutts.
    Then Roy Jones jr lands a love tap on the back of Bernards head and he goes down crying and gets the corrupt referee to take a point off Roy Jones jr.

    Bernard Hopkins is a glorified cheater and a whiny one at that

    I have him behind Pacquiao and Mayweather both, no hesitance on it, but he's one of the greats of the last 25 years, certainly. The bottom poll option is not reasonable, to me. Any time you have a dominant, long-reigning champion above minimum weight, with no doubt, some of his better opponents will be guys who've moved up. That's rarely, if ever, avoidable.
