this is a good fight to bring up because the fight was in a great place when it was stopped and people want to know who would have won if the cut wasnt there

it was a great fight and a real shame it had to stopped prematurely

Sorry to **** on your boy but Lennox didn't look like the champion he once was while he making up his mind to retire or not. He appeared insecure, vindictive and spiteful. Definitely not champion-like.

Klitland where 2 ifs = promise
and retiring at 39 = scared into early retirement.

If Lewis gave Vitali a rematch and beat him again all the Klitschko fans would be damanding another rematch, a cycle that would be never ending until Lewis was totally ancient.

Lewis beat many boxers in tough matches - Why does he have to beat Vitali twice?

Vitali has never beat anyone twice so do all his wins become questionable?

because, like i said in my post above, its a big, fat legit 'what if' fight.

who would have won if not for the cut?
considering what a great scrap it was before it got stopped....

Thats a bit of spin really

What happened was that they started fighting and Lewis badly cut Vitalis eye and then in 2 more places on his face.
Vitali knew the cut was terrible and the fight could be stopped, so he put his heart and soul into the first 4 rounds ( similar to that round Holyfield had against Lewis that God told him he would win in] knowing he had to KO Lewis.

After giving Lewis everything he had for 4 rounds, Lewis took over and started winning rounds, the tide had turned, Lewis had whethered the storm and was now in the accendancy and the pattern of the fight was clear.

No one mentions that the last 2 round ever fought between Vitali and Lewis were both won by Lewis........and that was gonna happen in the next 2 and Vitali would blind now.

    nobodys questioning the stoppage
it was clear it was the right decision

but the 'spin' - as you put it - is saying vitali put everything in the first 4 rounds because of the cut. that got deeper as the fight wore on

lewis was in trouble in the first 2 rounds and it woke him up.
lewis came back well but both were landing big, big punches

theres no spin in saying that vitali was ahead on the cards - he was

Vitali could barely stand at the end of the 6th. He'd be the one who would have had to retire early if the doctor didn't save his eye and career.

i would have liked to have seen a fitting end to a great fight and im sure many others would too
they were both hurt and one punch either way could have sealed it as i saw it

again, im not questioning the stoppage at all
    that cut was bad
