Is Andre Ward more or less getting a pass for disgracefully bringing Chad Dawson...

Because just beating fighter C because that fighter was able to beat fighter B doesn't automatically give a win to fighter A over B.

I have to disagree, styles make fights and if he beat Hopkins it doesn't mean the loss to Pascal is erased. Fact is, Hopkins beat Pascal, not Dawson.

The only truth to the matter is that Dawson openly admitted he's trying to get some big money fights already, he's 30 and the clock is ticking. This sport is obviously his life/job so he deserves to make money while keeping Pascal as an option. A win over Ward could do wonders for his career, if he loses then he can go back to light heavy and rematch Pascal.

Not denying that. Just that methinnks there more in the Ward bout. And as stated, Pascal will always be there later.

I'd say Joe's win over Hopkins is still better than that, add in wins over Reid, Mitchell, Brewer and Woodhall, all top SMW's of the era.

Also, it did take Joe too long to unify, but it's not his fault Ottke wouldn't face him, does that sound similar to you? How many times have I heard you defend Jones because you state Darius wouldn't face him, that's the predicament Joe had with Ottke. I think we can both agree Joe would have beaten Ottke.

When Lacy and Kessler agreed to fight unification bouts with Joe, he took them and won both.

Ward has done exceptionally well in a short space of time, he's also been fortunate with the super six

Ward agreeing to a weight Dawson suggested is NOT the same thing as Pacquiao fighting Cotto for the ww title at a cw below 147. If you can't fight someone at the max weight limit, then you are not a real champion. And you have no business fighting for a belt at that weight. If he had made Chad put his lhw title on the line, you would have a point. But he didn't, so you don't.

And Calzaghe fans calling Ward a hometown overrated fighter is the epitome of fail. That's all I can say about that nonsense.

Even if Ward wins inside 6 he won't be ahead of Martinez imo. It doesn't top Martinez KO2 Williams nor Donaire KO2 Montiel

I kinda have mixed feelings on this one one hand you'd almost want to have a catchweight but on the other Dawson did indeed call Ward out at 168.

Well Hopkins was a much better fighter than Jean in every sense of the word .He would have beaten Pascal had it not been stopped ,it wasn't like the Jean put on a clinic in that fight ,he was actually saved by the stoppage ..

agreed but all good, Dawson can deal with Pascal and his tight ass pants after the Ward and Cloud fights win or lose that fight is still there for both guys.
