Riddick Bowe and the garbage incident

Pretty much I beleive LL became the # 1 mando for Bowe's WBC belt but instead of fighting him he tossed the belt in the trash ..

 

I have a clip of it on a VHS in the garage, Bowe didnt duck lewis in the sense that he feared Lewis, Bowes manager did not want that fight right away he waned to make Bowe a figure an icon touring in Africa etc... something like Ali did.

it backfired on him obviously and BTW Lennox did not Kayo him in the Amateurs, RSC.... and that stoppage wasnt a good stoppage IMO Bowe was not hurt.

I still think Lewis would have beaten the lights out of him in the pros, but the ducking bit technically a duck but more or less a poor business decision that really hurt him

 

Which allot of todays fighters do they drop titles knowing that the media will not hold them accountable for that move

Bowe-Lewis would have been a great fight. Bowe had the better chin.

 

I wouldnt exactly say that, Lewis became the Mando after Bowe beat Evander, suddenly Bowe finds himself getting dropped like nothing in the Golota fights his chin held up against Evander for two fights but in the 3rd **** went south for Bowe.

Lewis would have knocked him out

I have heard that Bowe wanted the fight,but basically his management said **** no to high of a risk,Bowe wasnt a ***** and fought with all heart i cant see him ducking anyone honestly.

 

blame rock newman. **** and an idiot promoter/manager. no advantage to anyone.

had low business acumen just a i have this guy who is a world champion and i want to fight othee people.

he was the one who got bowe to whack larry donald at a press....larry donald. i mean the most calmest timidest guy.


anyways yeah im pretty sure rock saw a good fight on the horizon and decided to extend the time by dropping the belt and hope it worked into lennox's hands. lennox won. bowe started to fall apart. so he threw him against holy again and it derailed bowe again.

lennox became the most respected champ and the whole charade fell apart.

 

threw it in the trash where it belonged and Lennox was handed the garbage stained belt

Essentially he just gave up the title , just like Lennox did to avoid Byrd, and to avoid ruiz and finally klitschko

Bowe trashed it cause no one was interested in a lewis fights

just as lewis claimed for byrd

Lets get it straight at that time Bowe Holyfield was the fights to see

Finally Bowe was never KOed by lewis , that was quick even for an olympic fight

it would have no bearing on a 12 round professional bout not at all. Have you even seen it ?
