Are people underestimating Cain in the rematch with JDS?

I thought Dos Santos would TKO him in the first, because Cain had showed a tendancy to get clipped and if you get clipped by JDS your in bother unless you have a good chin, Cain's has been shown to be at least breakable.

I have JDS KO1 or 2 again.

 

Cain's got Glass, so NO.

Agree totally btw , yes Velasquez is certainly certainly live in this fight , he always has been , his skill set coupled with his cardio is a true test for any HW in the world , a test most HW's would fail

dos Santos however does have Cain's number , why ?? tall rangy striker who holds KO power pushing off line , or stepping out of harms way , with superb TDD , its gonna be really difficult for Velasquez to get into grappling range with a fighter like dos Santos , he's athletic , moves well and throws moving away as well as moving in with , with what it seems the same power , he really is a great fighter , he utilises his strengths better than most fighters in world MMA he's a class act

I will add , if Velasquez secures that one TD , it seems as though thats all he ever needs to begin the snowball effect of breaking a fighter down , he has that typical wrestling top game (derived from wrestling evolved for MMA) where he rarely gets involved in a JJ exchange and just sits on top throwing shots , as soon as an opponent moves in for butterfly or rolls out for guard , he's back on top , controls and gets comfortable in position then begins to throw his shots again , and seemingly his opponents can do little about it

actually i get the feeling people have forgotten about the first fight. Most places I've seen have people picking Cain by TKO or UD.

He can't handle Dos Santos punching power. And Dos Santos is just so hard to get down. Junior is very quick on his feet and has great Take down defense.

 

You'd be idiotic to underestimate Cain in any fight against anyone.

 

It's bull**** that JDS lands one punch on an injured Cain, and all of a sudden Cain is apparently an ordinary fighter. :-(

Well, Junior did knock him the **** out in one minute.

Carwin took a horrific beating from Junior and went the distance.Carwin took shots like that Knocked down Cain,over and over, and over, and over again all night long. Nelson took a vicious beating too and went the distance.

Cain was out, and getting his face smashed in, in less than one minute. Cain can't take his power. Kongo's average ass had him ready to go.

 

Cain was fully conscious when he was knocked down by the first significant shot in the fight. It wasn't a matter of getting his lights turned out, it was a matter of getting his balance scrambled before his body had adjusted to being in a fight.

Of course he was conscious from the KD punch. It was the follow up barrage on the ground when Cain couldnt defend himself any more. He was completely done. Junior could of beat him to death.

 

Cain is always a threat.

However, they have already fought and you can evaluate everything on that.

He got stopped in less than a round.

And Dos Santos certainly did not hurt himself by knocking out Mir.

 

I'll take Cain cuz no one else is and he's a Salinero.

I don't know why the hell I said that.

Not that it would have made a difference anyway, given the circumstances of the fight. And JDS complained in the cage about being injured too.

But I reckon Cain is certainly a live underdog in the rematch. I think he'll lose, though it wouldn't be shocking if he won impressively. But if he loses by knockout, I don't expect to see him get laid out by one punch in one minute again. :good
