I admit I got caught up in the hype and over estimated the abilities of Joshua.

That being said, there were a lot of Pros to be taken from the 22 year old 6'6 prospect.

    Pros
Joshua won a close BUT CLEAR decision over the other 'super prospect' Ivan Dychko. I been hearing a lot of people saying bad stuff about the 6'9 Ivan now just because he lost to Joshua. That's bull****. Ivan is a super prospect and have the tools needed to be a future star. Joshua showed much tougher mental strength in that last round and won the fight.

Joshua showed a lot of heart in all his matches, and a desire for combat. He loves to trade and a exciting super heavyweight slugger is what the division needs.

Joshua actaully showed a decent chin, he took a lot of bombs and showed pretty good stamina.

He won 4 of 4 Round 3's (championship rounds) that is pretty important, it shows in the championship rounds, he got going.

Size and an ability to adapt, along with growing power.

    Cons
-He would not have won Gold anywhere else.
-Savon's style counters him really badly and he was out boxed.
-One very questionable decision, and one decision up for debate.

Joshua was also on the wrong end of 2-3 decisions during the Am's and Baku. That's just the way it is.
If the Olympics was in Ukraine, Ivan would have gotten the nod, bloody nose and all. If it's a close fight, the home town guy is gonna get it.

    Let's be honest here.
The light weights are good and all. But boxing =HW'S.

Joshua have the highest age/skill ratio out of anyone since maybe Riddick Bowe.

What that means is at age 22 with the window and ceiling he have before him. It haven't been seen since Bowe.

Vitali and Wlad will have retired

    why even mention their names.

    I wanna see skills

    "Next Lennox Lewis"

If he can improve thats all that matters

Skill is the only thing that can limit him.

I have good hopes. Wanna see him knocking people out!

Who is yet another super British Prospect.

When a Brit beats a Brit, it don't count as a loss to British Boxing.

    I hope he wins gold.

The poor brits have won so few medals for a host country, truly embarrassing.

I guess you guys get medals in...horse riding. LOL
