I'm disgusted with the last decision. Joshua didn't even have a chance! He got bombed and outlandet big, but no...

Dychko and Zhang both looked impressive

Going by the judging of the Savon fight, the only way they'll beat Joshua is by stopping him.

Those two impressed me most along with Savon.

Dycko has a tremendous height and reach advantage, but he's still a great mover. And I love how he mixes up his right hand. He throws it very short and accurate, always right on the chin.

And Zhang looked very relaxed in there. His body shots were vicious.

I think the super heavyweight division is the most exciting one.

The Aussie was also robbed imo.

Awful night of reffing/judging. Total farce. I thought this was why the live scoring was introduced, why the hell did they get rid of it.

I don't agree that the Australian was robbed. It was a very close bout which could've gone either way. It's a completely different story with Joshua and Savon.

Oh, and the Iranian shouldn't have been disqualified at all. He looked good, but the referee took away his shot at winning the fight.

It was closer no doubt but I didn't think it was all that close, the Aussie clearly won the last 2 rounds imo. He deserved the nod though it wasn't the worst decision of the night.

The 3 you mentioned though where a complete disgrace.

That was atrocious. He gave him 3 deductions in a span of 40 seconds for ****ing nothing. Look at the amount of clinching in Mammadov vs Opetaia before that yet not a single warning. Iranian was arguably winning too. I honestly think that was politically motivated.

Thoughts after the 2nd half of the SHW RO16:

Joshua did get a gift. Savon was landing sharp counters all day and despite having the less heavy hands he actually stunned the Brit more than vice-versa and edged every imaginable metric (creditable touches, eye-catching blows, etc.)

Cammarrelle is still the class of the division. He should easily dispatch the Moroccan in the Quarters, and then depending on the winner of Medzhidov vs. Omarov either get his revenge or his biggest win of the tournament in the Semis. On the other side of the bracket I don't see Zhang, Keane, Joshua, or Dytchko beating him for the gold.

I'll be pulling for the overachieving Canuck, but he is going to get his face jabbed in. (I did think he ought to have taken it a little more clearly than by countback against the Frenchman, but not enough to say he's in a class to hang with the rest of the field or overcome the Kazakh's physical advantages)

Zhang if nothing else will help answer some of the questions raised about Joshua's chin.

NBC sucks for tape-delaying everything.

You have to ask yourself... if a guy has won over 300 fights with only 1 loss that was avenged, has an Olympic gold and 2 world championships at different weights while being a favourite for a 2nd olympic gold at a different weight class all at the age of 24.... maybe you DKSAB?

what's the difference between a "blatant hometown decision" and a "robbery"?

A robbery is usually given to the home town guy and they're always blatant.

six of one a half-dozen of the other.

Don't forget Val Barker Trophy winner for most outstanding boxer of the Olympics and at age 20. Rigo never won a Val Barker.

it's bad when the joshua-savon match pales in comparison to some of the decisions in the games...**** even with in the same hour.

feel for the iranian. i think it might of been stroppy but sportsmanship is only allowed if someone is allowed to play the sport they are involved in. leaving the ring was a good mark.

the japanese guy is appealing the decision. good man

+1 on the sportmenship comment and the Japanese fighter won his appeal and is moving on to the next round. AIBA screwed the Iranian though saying that according to the rules three warnings constitutes a DQ...ignoring the fact that the warnings themselves were appauling.
