I didn't say I "took pleasure" I said I dont care, we see worse decisions every week usually with pro world titles at stake. Just don't see the point in whinging and "hoping he loses", personally I hope this is a wake up call and he improves after the lucky break That is the last I'm saying on it
You make it pretty clear that you are happier that a British boxer progressed even though it involved outright robbery of the fighter everyone knew won. British hometown decisions are no better than the Chinese ones we saw at the last Olympics. These fighters have worked for years for this opportunity. People have a right to be pissed off when they see one mugged on live TV.
Saying "hope he loses" might a be going a bit far but but he certainly doesn't deserve it. What are supposed to do, just pretend it was the right decision? The decision was terrible and we have every right to complain about it. If we don't who will?
No, I'm not "happier" Are you not listening? I don't care, it happens all the time, I don't feel the need to get outraged and get up on my high horse about it
And if Joshua had out boxed and Savon only to be robbed in the most important fight of his career? Or another of "our boys"? You wouldn't complain about it? "****s" and "shrinking violents" get annoyed when a British fighter gets a huge gift, when they should be shouting about "our boys" who are "usually" robbed.
In all fairness Joshua did well to beat Camerelle to get here. He should now get to the semi's at least. He has amazing physical attributes which have taken him here, but people are expecting a tough fight with him now and his inexpierience is starting to show.
****ing hometown decision my arse.....the way that the scoring works means that all the judges could think that Savon won the fight easily but the decision could ultimately go to the other fighter...Thats down to the daft technology and having to press buttons within nano seconds of each other....Its a massively flawed system. Bring back properly judged fights and no headguards, they serve no useful purpose at all.
I wonder if the decision will be overturned..? Like what happened for fighter from Japan. Savon was robbed. I hope it gets overturned. Joshua is no Olympic Champion or Medallist.
I'm listening And that is why they happen all the time because people don't care. if you truly love the sport of boxing you should be upset by decisions like that regardless of who is on the end of it because decisions like that do damage to the sport.
The scoring for all of the fights is really odd. Guys are landing 20 clean punches a round and yet they'll be given a score of 4 or something ridiculous. The system is clearly flawed. Maybe the judges only look for hard shots? I don't know. Either way, it's a ridiculously flawed system that should have been erased a long time ago.
Do you think the Cubans have protested..? I hope so. **** Joshua, he's no Olympic Champion. He's been hyped because he is another 6"5 + fighter. Look back at Haye or even Harrison as Amateurs, they where both better than Joshua. He's a simple fighter, who's just physically very strong. I don't think he is naturally a great fighter in terms of co-ordination, speed, and skills..... I don't like him...
It is a flwed system where, because of the requirement to press buttons within a certain timescale, quick, crisp combination punching is in effect penalised and effective body punching is not scored at all. A result like tonights is to be expected under such a system....It would be very interesting to see what the countback score was. The irony is that this fiasco was brought in so we wouldn't have to witness a Roy Jones sized robbery again.
