Personally i'm glad Joshua won. I'm behind the kid 100%. That said the decision was bad. Savon boxes exceptionally well for a big man with beautiful movement for a guy so tall.
Joshua though has a lot of flaws. His footwork is terrible. Very static. And likewise he hardly moves his head. Boxes behind somewhat of a low guard without a rapier jab that he should pumping out in 2's and 3's followed up by his big right hand.
Alas he has been boxing for only 4 years so it stands to reason he has a low boxing IQ as he's learning on the job. On that display i can't see him reaching the finals.

Who does he face in the next round?

  3. He needs to move his head more.

I was left puzzled last night, wondering if my scoring was that out of wack, reading the coments here obviously not.

    I also thought he lost

was really suprised by the big Morocan guy think it was Arjaoui, he could only be described as fat but the guy could move and threw some lovely punches

all he has to do is be able to stand at the end and its in the bag for him, the home town corruption is great for him, it advances him and gets the clear and fair sporting winners and top boxers out of the competition at the same time.

I think Joshua lost that fight but he performed quite well.

People are saying about his 'slow feet' but I don't think he's that bad for a super-heavy.

What made me laugh is how the commentators didn't even have the decency to say a little "He was a little lucky". They ignored the bad scoring acting as if it was fair and started kissing joshuas arse as if he had put on a masterclass. You can't hate on Joshua though as it's nothing to do with him how the bout is scored and he seems like a nice lad. Just feel sorry for the Cuban whose Olympic dream got crushed by **** judges.
