    Custio Clayton

"Clayton exacted sweet revenge at the Olympic boxing venue on Sunday afternoon by defeating Mexican rival Oscar Molina 12-8 on points — the first Canadian fighter to win an Olympic bout in eight years."

"The victory against Molina puts the City of Lakes Boxing Club fighter against Australian fighter Cameron (The Hammer) Hammond, and a win against the Aussie would put him one win away from some hardware. The last Canadian to win an Olympic medal in boxing was heavyweight David Defiagbon at the 1996 Atlanta Games."

    Simon Kean

"Canadian super heavyweight (six-foot-five, 243-pound) Simon Kean of Trois Rivieres, Que. has his first bout on Wednesday against Tony Yoka of France."

"The Canadian champion has had to overcome several hurdles in recent years. He has been recovering from a shoulder surgery he had in the fall. He also fought back from a serious ATV accident he suffered three years ago when he suffered a badly broken leg and an infection so severe, doctors feared an amputation. He still sports a pretty spectacular scar from the surgery needed to repair the leg and foot. The fighter had been in a wheelchair and walking with canes for several months, losing six months of his Olympic training journey."

"While no one is expecting Kean to advance into the medal rounds but he is a devastatingly hard puncher"

    Mary Spencer

"Three-time world champion Mary Spencer of Windsor opens her tournament Aug.6 after receiving a bye in the first round. Women’s boxing makes it’s Olympic debut in London."

"This year will mark the first ever Olympic Games in which women have been allowed to compete in boxing, and Spencer has the chance to make history."

I don't know much about these so feel free to comment and add any infos (and what you think about their chances).

Clayton is from about 20 miles where I live. I heard about him when he qualified for the big show but have never really followed his progress. He is creating quite a buzz in this province

    I've seen his fight.
    Was good.
And the best is that it was revenge for him.

He is facing Autralian Cameron Hammond next (saturday).
The guy is ranked #5 in the world while Clayton is 30+

    Looks like a tough challenge...

I was impressed with the speed of Kean and Yoka last night. For a 240 pound man Kean has good quickness.

Kean has only been boxing for 6 years so he has some things to learn. He says he is going to take some time before turning pro, He is only 22 so he can take a few years. He looks to have very good athleticism.
