Could Pacquaio have knocked out Margarito?

yes...i fully believe there would have been a stoppage if manny didn't take his foot off the gas after that 10th round...either that or margarito's eye would have been completely done...actually that eye might be done...we never got any report or pics of it after that fight with cotto

 

I think that the ref probably should have stopped it in the 9th or 10th, and that Pacquiao probably could've done it himself at any time in the last 2 rounds if he'd really pushed for it.

i still couldnt believe margarito's own corner didn't think to pull him out..the ref didnt stop it..the ****ing doctors didn't stop it...margarito was coming close to being killed in the ring that night..margarito is a tough guy but the man was swaying and out on his feet in that 10th round which ive never seen him do in any of his previous fight that ive watched

Knockout as in knocking the person out cold? No I don't think Pacquiao could have done that. Margarito has a great chin and there aren't many people that could turn his lights off.

But some people just use the term knockout to describe a stoppage. In which case yes Pacquiao could have easily got the stoppage if he kept his foot on the gas. In fact the stoppage could have happened regardless if Margarito's corner done their job properly. That eye was horrendous. He really shouldn't have been allowed to continue.

 

yes, margarito is a warrior but he doesn't deserve that. pacquiao whispered something unto his ear when they clinched and said something and after that, he was basically holding down his punches. there was a certain part of the match also that pac buckled margarito with a body shot. i hope someone can post the youtube video of that sequence. it was quite brutal.

to me the fight was finished when pacquaio in the 10th hit margarito with a counter right hook as he leaned in....the lights went on but nobody was home after that shot..then pacquiao hits him with 4-5 punch combination..the last left snapped his head back..i was like :shock: at that sequence
