He gave whitaker one of his toughest fights when whitaker moved up to 154, before that he had like 10 title defenses one of them was against a young whinky wright who he thoroughly dominated. i dont understand why him and terry norris never got it on would have been fireworks. after beating whitaker his career pretty much went to ****. he was 55-2 fought this french boxer and got sparked. i guess with his style and the number of fights he had something was going to give sooner or later.
terry norris avoided him and feasted off of welterweights and has beens. he didn't want any of it, he knew damn well he would get clocked.
Very decent rough and tough kind of fighter...Won fights on brute strength sometimes, just muscling his way in and grinding out the win with a superior workrate. Pretty run actually aswell..some good names and some very watchable fights aswell. Forget about his post 2000 career...he fell waaaay off his best.
