One thing that I don't think gets discussed at all is Lewis' jab. I don't think I've ever seen a jab stop someone like Vitali right in his tracks. That was probably the most powerful jab I've ever seen.

I hate when people say things like this,as if the cut was not cause by a nasty uppercut......

It was nasty I dont believe in lucky punches man. Just like i dont think the punch rahman caught lewis with was lucky, it was timed perfect. win is a win i never said it wasnt. i love lewis. vitali not so much. bottom line though vitali was stunnin him way worse than lewis stunned vitali. dont argue this. LET PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OPINION.

The thing is - If Vitali had not been badly cut, he would not have put everything into the first 4 rounds - He knew it would be stopped on the cut so had to put everything into getting Lewis out of there - He couldnt do it and Lewis started winning the rounds.

It was a bit Hagler Hearnsish but a badly cut Hagler got the job done - Vitali couldnt.

A rematch would have been a dull safety first chess match which Lewis would be favoured to win, if he had anything left. The first fight was only exciting because of Vitalis desperate attempts to KO lewis before he was blinded.

Possible. An its possible Lewis could have flattened Vitali the second fight. Lewis looked badly out of shape in that fight, Thats why its good he got the job done on cuts or he would have had a bad night IMO. Its one of the most underrated brawls ever at heavy i know that much. Nothin but bombs thrown. thats what i wish we would see more out of vitali now

Good, well then my opinion is that Vitali was stinging Lewis early in the fight but Lewis was hurting Vitali late in the fight.

And during the last 20 sec of the fight when Lewis landed an overhand right Vitali was hanging on for dear life, while Lewis was trying his best to create distance between himself and Vitali so he could finish him off.

I don't really understand how anyone can get from that to the fact Lewis was really to retire due to exhaustion. That's an olympic gold metal in mental gymnastics to get from one to the other.

Good thing Lewis retired, even Vitali acknowledges he was past his best.

I too wish this fight was celebrated more for the brawl it was rather then who won or who should have won. It was one hell of a good fight for the fans that much we could probably all agree on. :good

There's as much evidence Vitali would have gone soon too.

Vitali could see every punch from a guy he calls too slow, and yet he still got TKO6ed...Vitali must suck.

You clearly didn't see the fight, then.

Vitali was done. Damn near out on his feet, using Lennox to hold on for dear life. The tide had turned. Lewis was about to Knock his ass clean out, cut or no cut.

Wait. What? I'm supposed to let you have your opinion and not argue it?

Your opinion is not based on any fact. Vitali was dead on his feet at the end of the 6th and that's not something anyone with two eyes can argue.

Why did he not avoid any punches for the last three rounds then?
Even I'm bored with this.No fun debating with someone who needs psychiatric help.
