I had to turn it off in disgust, I don't think I can watch these fights anymore.
Here's to Spence though, hope he has a long pro career.

I turned it off immediately too. I'm ashamed that I even participated in this crap to begin with.

No they don't, in the pro they have 10 and 12 rounds to get it right, still you have fights like the Spaniard-Cloud, Abril-Rios, Lara-Williams just to mention a few and they screw it anyway.

i got real excited about olympic boxing this year. the second fight i watched was brazil vs britian. CONCEICAO Robson vs TAYLOR Josh and i thought the brazilan won the fight. in this fight, i thought the brazilian ripped the brit with brutal body shots to setup head attacks. the brit responded with some love taps to the jaw but was using ineffective footwork. i thought the brit was given easy points to maintain the lead. but in accepting that the amatuers dont have a way to account for body shots or effective agressiveness, i just decided not to watch anymore fights.

Its a ****ing disgrace. These athletes are being outright cheated at the Olympics of all places. I'm done with this sham.

you ***gits make the mistake of trying to score it like professional boxing, scoring 10 point rounds.

remember in amateur boxing a punch that rocks your head back hard and a punch that just lands is scored the same, no such thing as effective aggression etc etc

I don't get it. Judging can be subject but you have other sports like gymnastics, and diving and they get it right how can the boxing judges not get it correct. In a close fight I can see it going either way but those fights were outright robbery.

No one is scoring it like a professional fight. In the Spence fight, he clearly out landed the Indian guy. Same deal with the Cuban fighter, he clearly out landed Joshua.
