Ya me too. This was the worst robbery in the Olympics. I was so disgusted after watching the fight. :fire:fire I was rooting HARD for Spence. Then I saw that he lost and I was like :yikes Good to see him come back. I hope he make it all the way into the Finals.
Reported for racism And who the **** is Slugger? Some ******* piece of ****? I hate Pacquiao almost as much as I hate the Kbros. Stop stalking me you ****ing moron gorilla. I thought I was on 'ignore' You just can't get enough of Trinidad Dick ?
There have to be rule infractions for a decision to be overturned... **** scoring by judges doesn't count which is why the Ogogo and Joshua wins still stand.
did you know they've fought before? Spence beat him in a 9-9 in a tiebreaker at the Chemistry Cupin Halle Germany this year. so don't be too sure.
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/aiba-overturns-the-result-of-bout-142/ Great news. I hope they do justice to other boxers that were robbed as well but I doubt that will happen. The only way to clean it up is to allow video replay judging of fight outcomes that are rigged. I have no problems with fights that are actually close as they can go either way. Spence clearly won the fight he had his opponent hurt battered and he landed way more blows than he was give credit for.
While I'm thrilled to see this specific result overturned, this does seem a slippery slope. Can they go back and arbitrarily decide "the referee - who's supposed to have sole discretion - should have cautioned here, or there...and therefore enough points can be shuffled around for us to reverse the outcome any time there are judgment call scenarios where fouls aren't ruled..."
No I didn't know that. Should be a good close scrap then, I think Zamkovoy is a very good boxer so he won't be the walkover that IB thinks he will be anyway.
His form against neither Qiong nor Nolan suggested he's operating on a higher level at present than Spence based on his form against Carvalho and Vikas. :conf I guess their previous h2h encounter was close, but it wasn't exactly the same stage or for the same stakes as the Olympics. Spence is looking "up for it" whereas Zamkovoy is in cruise control. (although that could have to do with the lesser opposition - but it isn't encouraging that he sank to their level rather than outshining them...)
Excellent news! Disgusting, corrupt officiating shouldn't be tolerated in any sport, especially one where the participants put their lives on the line. I hope the lad goes on to win Gold after what he must have went through last night.
Spence v Evans happened at the WBC Convention in Cardiff last year, I was ringside for it as there were plenty of empty seats in the arena to sit where you liked. I was looking forward to watching the local boy Evans who I had heard so much about. Spence beat the **** out of Evans, gave him 2 standing counts with body shots and dominated the entire fight, if it had been a pro bout Evans would have been out of there in the first or second round. Kept an eye out for Spence ever since, he is an outstanding fighter and as soon as the olympic draw was made looked around as many betting sites as I could to put a bet on for gold...... Managed to get odds on him at 40/1 with skybet so stuck a tenna down. The only way Spence will lose is by dodgy decision to an ama hit and run merchant in an awful fashion much like the IndianFighter tried to do, anyone who holds they're feet with Spence will get beaten. I for one cannot wait to see Errol turn pro, fights like a pro in amateur fights and still manages to do well - which is an almost impossible thing to do, hurting guys withs 10oz ama gloves and head guards, imagine how heavy handed he will be with smaller gloves and no head gear. Frightening potential Go Spence :bbb
