ESPN2 FNF: Mercito Gesta vs. Ty Barnett & Jesse Magdaleno vs. Aldimar Santos RBR

Round 1

Gesta is clocking the left jab of Barnett, moving his head and chopping in with right hooks. Barnett tries a right to the body, a bit of a loop on it and slow, but he fools Gesta by bringing a quicker one up top and clipping him on the chin as the arms drop. Combo by Gesta on the way in, getting tied up. STRAIGHT LEFT TO THE JAW by Gesta, has Barnett in trouble and backing up on jelly legs. Barnett ties up.

10-9 Gesta

 

I ****ing loathe Adrien and kinda like Mercito, but no.

 

I can't see him doing anything except the latter, especially where all the pressure from back home and all throughout PacNation will be on his shoulders to go for the glory and try to knock Floyd out. (which is a fool's errand..)

 

Round 2

Gesta is coming in with a bit of a southpaw Philly shell, and throwing right jabs and hooks from the hip. Barnett is looking to time a right hand while backing up, missing to the head but scoring a few shovels to the body as Gesta comes in pouring the 1-2 on him.

Close round, as was the 1st until Gesta hurt him.

His power and workrate have held up fairly late in the past (against cagey vets Genaro Trazancos and Manny Perez)
