I think he would be in the top 5 for sure. Cooney vs Price and Fury?
    vs the Klits?
    Would be interesting.

Price is still a domestic level fighter. Fury barely fringe world class.

Cooney might well beat Povetkin (I think he would) so his chance of winning a meaningless bauble is good, but I'd expect Wlad to starch him after breaking him down.

Wlad kills him dead, i'd probably bet good money on haye beating him also.

Anyone else i'd probably favour him over.

Frankly, if he'd stayed at his best for two or three years, he would've almost certainly picked up one of the world titles during the Holmes era. It just wouldn't have been against Holmes, the true top dog. And if you put the best Cooney in there with quite an assortment of titlists he would've had some good odds to pick up a major world title at many points all the way up to your Maskaevs and Peters, at least.

    Both brothers would destroy Cooney.

I would be very confident of either Klitschko beating him, and I have my doubts about him beating Haye or Povetkin.

Probably not, but if he could get that left hook onto Wlad's chin early, it's a distinct possibility.

The problem with the Cooney types is the rebuilding job on your hands when they lose. It's a massive rebuild project and they never do come back like they once were, do they?

He'd probably take out Povetkin, but I'm not sure about it. I think Haye is too quick on the outside and has much faster hands. The Klitschko's badly ko him.

How about the last decade and some other champs? I think Brewster gets him out of there in a slugfest. How about a guy like Oleg Maskaev? Or Rahman? Maybe Oleg out toughs him. Maybe Cooney blows him out in 2 rounds also. I think cooney bobmbs out Ruiz because Ruiz is a guy that walks in and Cooney catches him early with that left uppercut or lefthook and it would be all over.

Yes..Indeed he would beat the sweat and snot out of our Russian HW Champion...I would say nobody since the Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, and Riddick Bowe days...He would have had his hands full full with all those guys..But Cooney was a great fighter..gritty and just an all around beast..
