The difference is I don't see threads on here every day crying over the Mcall stoppage. It's sad when the most talked about heavyweight fight happend 10 ****ing years ago.

 

If you do a frame by frame of the 7-10 seconds before the cut, you can see Lewis get hit, come in to tie up, leading with his cornrows, scraping the L side of Vitalis face and forehead.
Lewis and Vitali break, but there is swelling beginning due to the butt. Lewis throws a 1-2, missing completely with the R hand, but the thumb portion of the glove(didnt cause cut, probably did not tighten the skin). Lewis lunges in and ties up. HBs Vitali X2, with a full cornrow scrape, then throws and OH R that bursts the swollen skin open. CUT caused by LEGAL punch.

NOW. That particular cut did NOT end the fight. It was above the eye and would be a factor, but it was NOT wide or large enough to cause permanent damage. It was Lewis's continuous targeting of the eye, knowing he'd met his match, that caused the stoppage. He added 2 more clean cuts to Vitali's eye area, and if Klitlickers and tards would review the tape, we'd see Vitali's L side of his mouth was beginning to burst apart too. :tired

It wasn't a lucky stoppage as I once thought as well. It was a masterpiece of boxing and testament to Lewis's greatness. He painted the entire R side of his face and forehead with beautiful power shots. None of that patsy Michaelangelo BS either:nono. Lewis's was painting with a steamroller.

Now. Vitali was in dire straits, knowing the stoppage could be called at any moment. So he too, had to go for it. He pounded Lewis whenever Lewis would accept and exchange. He had built up a 2-1 lead prior to the 4th, and continued winning the 4th and 6th. There were at least 3 times that he had Lewis in such a state that had he just been able to press it a bit more, he may have had the aging great fold. But again, whether it was Lewis's resilience, or Vitali's belief that he would carry on longer than Lewis, the fact is that Lewis showed the entire world that even at 37 vs a 32 year old beast, that he was truly the best in the world during his prior generation, and could handle all the surging new champions could bring.

I think I would have been happier if the ref would have called it a TD, using his discretion, and ABIDING by the unified rules. A TD6 would be no disgrace to Lewis and most would be arguing today that it should be TKO6......BUT.....it would have given the world it's rematch. The fight of the century, may have had it own equal. But b/c of the circumstances, the official ruling, and knowing he likely would have LOST a decision in the rematch( I dont think Vitali would KO Lewis, IMO) Lewis walked away from 40 million bucks and left us, the fans, still spewing TKO6 and CHASED INTO RETIREMENT, rather than just.....DAMN, DID WE JUST WITNESS HISTORY.:shock:

Klitschko fans are completely delusional . Of course that is not all of them ,but it def has to be most of them. Especially if you pay attention to the Klitschkos facebook page where the fans are stating that after Char Vitali just needs a couple more defenses to prove he is greater the Lewis ...... TKO6

 

Vitali saw every punch all right.......................going straight into his face. Bloody hell, when are you Klittards gonna stop making threads on this?? Why can't you just move on and accept that Klitschko lost, and the cut was caused by a legitimate punch? Also, what does posting pics of Lewis being knocked out by Rahman and Mccall have anything to do with this topic? Are you that butthurt about the TKO6, that your desperate counter-argument is to post pics/gifs of completely different fights??

 

Its always funny looking at these fanboys making a complete fool themselves...Vitali still couldnt KO a past prime Lewis...You're posting these pics like its gonna do you some justice...When its all said and done, Vitali couldnt do what those other fighters have done. (score a KO)
