Was Lucian Bute one of the biggest hype job that got exposed in modern boxing?

    This is a thread i wanted to make since May, but i did not cross my mind until now. We seriously need to bump all those "Bute by KO within 4 rounds" and all the other Bute is gonna **** Froch threads and so on... Because everyone was expecting Bute to annihilate Froch. I actually don't remember a fight where people were so wrong about a fighter in recent times :yep

    I don't think he was the biggest hypejob, I think it was more of a massive under rating for Froch what made it seem so much worse than it was.

    Not at all.

    He is a good boxer who just lost badly to a very good boxer. The people on his resume are decent/good fighters, he beat Johnson far better than Froch did.

    He is still top 5 at 168..

    Not really, he was consistent, and he beat the opponents he was suppose to beat. But when he was finally tested, he fell apart.

    Yes. He was. ESB and vladimir23 got like a giant ass thousand page thread dedicated to him. It was sort of sad.


    Overall around the boxing world,of course not. He's still a top 5 SMW and could easily go up to LHW and win belts.

    But on ESB he was clearly one of the top 3 Hypejobs of all times.

    lets see how he bounces back. the guy has talent. he had a lot of hype for sure but its not like he lost to a door to door steak knife salesman. the guy put asses in seats. fighters like that get hyped so they can keep putting more asses in seats.

    Bute is gonna redeem himself in rematch ! I'm sure that he will succeed to outbox Froch !

    Still support Bute and I hope he will beat soundly his next opponent !:cool:

    Bute was a world champion & had what 8-9 title defenses??
    Hype jobs don't do that.

    Had he never won a belt & got KTFO as a prospect then...

    Bute will beat Froch when he gets him back in Montreal...

    Froch was hyped up on something for the first match, and I don't mean adrenaline....

    Lemiuex, Bute.... all hype these ****ing foreigners know how to hype the **** out of their guys...

    It's currently happening with GGG, and was with Kell Brook until an America Journeyman took him to hell.
