One of life's most horrific prospects is to be in a boxing ring and tired to exhaustion against someone who isn't. Never faced that in a real fight situation, but have been there in sparring and the most helpless feeling is to be so tired that you'd rather take the other fella's punches rather than try to summon the energy to fight back or even defend. And there's two minutes left in the round, and the one thing I was sure of is that I wasn't going to quit.
You can understand why Foreman was pissed his corner told him that it was the last round when it wasn't when he fought Peralta.
If you're under 175, Foster would be bad. He looks like he can pin you on the ropes with a jab right from the center of the ring, if he could hit you with the right you're gone, and if you manage to get away from it, well... remember Mike Quarry. If you're a FW, Saddler would be nightmare. Those scrawny arms made him look unhittable, he could put you down with either hand in one and, if you began doing annoying **** like, let's say, make him miss, you know he didn't pay the ref much mind. He would just plain simply kick your ass by any means necessary. In the indestructible nightmare department I'd go for Monzon. No matter what you did to the ****er you could not slow him down. Never looked tired, or doubtful, or angry, or anything. He just kept kept coming, coldly banging you like a psychopath, round after round after round. There's no way that wouldn't brake you at some point. In the humiliation department my vote goes for Locche. Unlike Pep or Whitaker, Locche didn't look as good as he made you look awful. Specially when he wasn't showboating. I keep watching the Fuji fight and I can't help but pity the guy. Locche didn't even look like he's trying. He didn't look too shifty or sharp or anything. He looks very hittable, then... the guy just missed. By the ninth Fuji was pretty much blind, exhausted and he barely even touched the guy. Maybe it's just me but I felt much worse for Fuji than for Duran or Fabela Chavez. Oh, and prime Louis on a rematch... not good news for the family either. Give me a shotgun or no go.
