Wilfredo still wakes up in the middle of the night screaming "Mommy, Chava is coming to get me!"

Sorry mate, but anyone voting for Canelo needs to be taken out back and executed with extreme prejudice.

Canelo is a phenom, surely a hof when its all said and done. His management should be given credit for carefully moving this young fighter. Look at Fernando Vargas, career cut short due to being fed to the wolves at a very young age. Canelo is like 21 or 22, you can't match him with Floyd or Cotto just yet. When it's all said and done, I predict he'll be considered by experts as one of the greats boxing has ever seen.

Uh...when he was at his best, just about everything. Solid power in both hands, good combination punching, rock solid chin, stamina to burn, underrated defensive ability (for someone who did much of his business in the trenches, he didn't get hit all that much), and an ability to apply the type of suffocating pressure that would leave most of opponents in an utterly spent state by the time the championship rounds rolled around (if they were lucky)

How is he on an ATG list in his prime.
His resume doesn't seem that good besides the extreme numbers.

Chava hit a tree to avoid the rematch with a serious Gomez and not a Gomez who trained for 14 days for the fight...

That is Sanchez most hyped victory and it was against Gomez who was not even taking Sanchez seriously.

Making a tasteless comment like that about Sanchez just shows how much that loss still burns inside you. :yep

Even Gomez himself would smack you for making such a comment.

Either way, Sanchez whooped Gomez. Had they rematched, Gomez would still have gotten his ass whooped and you would have come up with another excuse. :good

Zarate had influenza before the Gomez bout and he also moved up in weight to face him. But i wont use that as an excuse, Gomez was the better fighter, and that was his best win.

Chava just so happened to not only avenge that win, but TOP it as well. :-D
