Pernell vs Manny..If your fans of both these fighters what would be your prediction?

The most likely result is: Manny "No Risk" Pacquiao finds some excuse not to fight.
Whitaker wins, and it wouldn't be close.

Pernell faced a better offensive machine in Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, and we all saw how that turn out.

Now take someone who is less accurate, has much trouble with movement and counterpunching, and can't cut off the ring for **** and what do you get? A major schooling at the heads of Pea.

 

I'd take Pernell to win this, but it can go either way. If Manny sticks with counterpunching I can see him winning this by decision or even KO.

 

Whitaker wide UD, Pernell would know what Manny's going to do before Manny does

Different styles. Pacquaio's punches come from more angles. Chavez is more of a patient, precision stalker with slower hands. Pacquaio gets off easier with punches. Chavez is technically better though, no question.

 

Whitaker would have the style before the fight.. and would tweak whatever was needed during the fight to win a wide UD decision.

The only thing in regards to this fight that would be relevant is whether or not Pea pitches a shut-out. Manny would likely be a game challenger, and give everything he has, and maybe even have some productive moments in the fight....Not sure that would translate into him winning rounds though. For the sake of respect towards Pac I will lean towards a 10-2/9-3 type of decision...But one where the outcome is never seriously in question.
