David Haye vs prime Holyfield. Who takes this one?

Both fantastic boxers in their own right and both ATG's but just how would these two match up in the squared ring?

The above fight is a good indication I believe as to how the Haye vs Holyfield super fight would go. Chris Byrd was basically a poor mans Hayemaker minus the brutal stopping power of David. Byrd as we all know was a superb little defensive fighter, not quick as slick and fast as Hayemaker but very good never the less.

Witness the slickness of Hayemaker above. Can Holyfield land against this?

Holyfield's nemesis John Ruiz. Look how easily The Hayemaker deals with The Quiet man.

Holyfield would win on a late stoppage I think.

Holyfield stoppage. Holyfield was not in his prime v either Ruiz or Byrd and Ruiz was not in his prime v Haye

Duffy has a wry smile on his face after reading you two chancers posts. Big KO machine Klitschko with brutal stopping power couldn't even stun The Hayemaker yet Holyfield stops him? Bah, up your game lads. You can't hit what you can't catch.

Holyfield doesn't have big stopping power.

Haye didn't like what Klitschko gave him one little bit. He fought almost entirely on the defensive. Specifically because Holyfield doesn't hit as hard, you have to presume that Haye would fight with more aggression. This would play into Holyfield's hands, he'd have plenty of countering opportunities and I think he'd get to Haye plenty. That chin combined with his boxing ability and his top-line stamina means Haye is going to get quite soundly beaten in the middle rounds I think. I'd pick him to fade a bit and get taken apart, probably finishing on his feet.

Tyson couldn't beat Holyfield but Haye does?
People routinely pick Holyfield to beat Wlad, but Haye beats him?

I dont dislike David Haye but what exactly has he done to be regarded a ATG. Styles obviously make fights but Holyfield faced better opposition in his time Haye has.

Haye and Holy should not be mentioned in the same sentence. Apples and oranges class wise. Do you derive pleasure from being told your comparisons are idiotic?

I dont agree with someone if they say this fight would be one sided for Holyfield

I think the defining factor would be the fact that Holyfield is a true ATG. Haye is a vey good fighter, but Evander has alot of ring smarts. Hayes speed would be a factor early, but I see Holyfield getting to grips with it mid fight when Haye starts to tire, then Holyfield scoring a late KO

OK.....Im not a huge Haye fan, but Im coming around and I could be a fan if he'd fight.

But the Haye who beat every regular sized HW he fought, would likely outpoint Holyfield.
Evander had trouble with movers and guys who wouldnt stand toe to toe with him in the trenches. Haye would be in and out like lightning, and I think he would adapt his style soas to not be KOd.

There would be moments for sure when Haye would be on the backfoot, hurt, looking for a way to get out of there, but if he buckled down, he could actually hurt Holyfield, and keep him honest enough to be outpointed from the outside.:think
