After the fight, I would like to buy you a 'pint' Cassius.

We can go down to the 'Crawdaddy Club' and catch that new house band, 'The Yardbirds'

Now get off the floor, and start fighting.

Never knew the Yardbirds appeared there. I know the Stones started off in that venue.

"And you'll have to save me a place at the bar, Cassius. I don't know how long it will take for them to stitch up my eyebrow after the cut you just promised me."

I would say that Ali would of been ko'd if there wasnt a few secs left and angelos quick thinking IF there was never that 15 th round of the fotc in 1971 when frazier nearly severed ali head with a left hook

How ali just got up still never ceases to amaze me. I dont think you can say cooper would of kod him. ali had an amazing chin and powers of recovery

They took over after The Rolling Stones left.

They added some new guitarist in October 1963, named Eric Clapton.

I wonder whatever happened to him ?

He was pretty dazed, though. But he still did well to be able to get up so quick. Shows that his legs were still working, & his mind was still able to act, if only on insinct.

Its hard to tell what would have happened if there'd still been 30 or 40 seconds left of the round.

Possibly Ali may have been able to hold on or evade trouble, & if caught by another hook, he may just have been floored again or badly rocked. But still just scraped by.

Just a possibility. We'll never know.

Kent Green floored Cassius Clay mid-way through a round, and finished him off.

Amazing what a 1-minute of rest can do, for a woozy fighter.

Ol' Enry, was about 20-seconds too late. If that punch came at the 2:40 Mark,
we may have been calling Cassius a 'weak-chinned' American Heavyweight.

Thanks everyone for your input, & for the videos. I now feel better educated on the subject of this thread.

    Cheers all.

:deal this is SO SO true - and succinctly put too - the above is one reason I kind of the reason i tend to favour some of the lighter greats against Ali such as Louis/Marciano/Dempsey
