What an epic fight that would be. If it was in England though, I expect a WWE/UFC style match-up in favor of Hatton. I'll pick Hatton by UD.
Looks good on paper but Hatto always struggled at 147,whilst Mayorga was always a big welter who I'm sure actually boiled down to fight in the 147 division after being at 154. Good press conferences, but Mayorga might be too big for a guy who was at his best at 140.
that wouldve been a good brawl. both have sloppy agressive punching styles. I see Mayo KOing Hatton within 3 rounds.
Ricardo was always too big for hatton. Welterweight ricardo would knocked the **** out of welter ricky.
Welterweight belt aside ricky was meant to be a one weight fighter. 140 was just perfect for him. monster at 140
That is a tough one...Mayo might just be too big...but Hatton definitely is the more skilled of the two tho...
Mayorga at the press conference alone will humiliate Fatton and then KO him within the middle rounds in the actual fight. Mayorga too street too gangsta too thug, too strong and too much confidence and clowning skills for a suburban white boy in Hatton Also don't forget too fukkin strong and too big for Fatton. It took a fukkin middleweight big punching Tito Trinidad 8-9 rounds to KO him and full 12 rounds for Cotto and Mosely at 154lbs to KO him and a powerful Left Hook by Oscar at 154 at age 33 in 6 rounds. Hatton is not as good, not as big, not as fast and not as strong compared to Vernon Forrest, Tito Trinidad, Oscar, Mosley and Cotto. FACT
Hattons chin is never gonna be the same, hes gonna get koed by the first good punch he takes if he comes back
if the fight was to happen now, i really don't know. i don't think hatton could come back after all this time being out. i think it's safe to say that he doesn't have it any more. hope he stays retired. if it was to happen in their prime, that's a different story... i think hatton would be all wrong for mayorga. hatton has the better talent of the two that's for sure. with the pressure of hatton coming forward and taking the steam out of mayorga's punches with not allowing him to come forward would be a huge advantage to hatton. tzsyu who was a bigger puncher couldn't do anything with hatton in this situation. and he's a much better all round fighter than mayorga was. throw in the facts that mayorga was easy to hit and that hatton would be able to see all his punches coming doesn't help matters either. hatton struggled with fighters where their punches were hard to read. (mayweather/callazo/pac) it doesn't exist in this situation. in the first five rounds it would play out in the middle of the ring. both getting quite rough with each other. with mayorga not having that good of a defence, i see hatton being able to get his body punches in very easily. mayorga being down once or twice would not surprise me at all. but, after the first five, hatton would start to push back the already tiring mayorga. he would have his moments here and there but it would be all hatton from this point. i see hatton closing the show round about the 10/11th round with vicious body punching. great fight, but hatton takes this one. the style of hatton would not suit him.
