    Is it me, or does Roger do absolutely nothing for Floyd in the corner? I've watched several of Floyd's fights and in between rounds most trainers will advise their fighters on we he or she should be doing, but when I watch Roger, he usually says the same thing "just box him". I understand the relationship and the importance of Roger being there for Floyd, but does Floyd really need him or could he have success with any trainer? I believe Floyd has success with any trainer.

    he is his trainer watch the Floyd va Zab fight both Leonard and Roger give great advice. When he is beating somebodies ass Floyd should keep doing what he is doing

    @PrinceN

    I saw the Judah fight, he did a little more than give good advice! I don't doubt doubt that Floyd Sr. and Roger had a everything to do with shaping Floyd as a fighter but as of late, it seems like Roger is more of a moral support figure. I do think at some point a smart fighter surpases his teacher(s), and I believed Floyd did that a long time ago. I'm not saying Roger is not need by any means, I just think that Floyd either makes his role as a trainer a lot easier or their really isn't much more Roger can teach him.

    Roger gives excellent strategic advice. Either:

    "Box dat mufuca"

    Or:

    "Keep walkin that mufuca down"

    Floyd still needs Roger around, would be absurd to think otherwise, but when Floyd is carrying out his game plan how Roger sees fit, not getting caught with silly shots etc theres not much else you can say to a fighter like Floyd because Floyd that once in a lifetime fighter that can make the adjustments himself mid round and if plan A dont work on to the next one.

    Roger comes up with a gamplan, gets floyds into shape, oversees the training camp to make sure everything is going how it should, holds the pads. He will also chose the sparring partners.
    During the fight he offers advice, let's floyds know if he's doing what he should do and probably more importantly provides a familiar face so floyd can regroup after each round.

    What more do you expect a trainer to do? Especially when your pupil is floyd
