This is interesting to me because i've heard you describe him as "****" and "awful" before.

Williams was a very TOUGH guy. He was impressive against Tyson because he toughed it out.
    But he was mediocre overall.
I mean, he went about even with Michael Sprott. He went 1-1 with Julius Francis. He was domestic level in an ordinary era.

You mean one top 10 ATG Heavyweight in the prime of his career? 2010 Wladimir would easily beat anyone british HW of all time except for a prime Lennox Lewis.

F*ck Resume, his talent far exceeds those british gooftroopers on film

    Well, it's all relative.
I've heard a lot of people here tell me this whole HW era is **** and awful ..... (and I kind of agree).

Haye deserves to be world ranked at the moment, therefore he is world class. So do some other guys who look pretty awful deserve to be ranked.

In some people's opinions Luis Firpo and Tony Galento were pretty awful. They were world ranked/world class too, imo.

Tommy Farr went 15 rounds with a prime Joe Louis, and gave a better account of himself than Haye did over 12 with a prime Wlad.

If you rate Joe Louis #1 all-time, I'll let you do the math.

    Very poor argument.
The mystic "talent on film" argument.

I think of him as one of the best cruiserweight champions for sure.

Isn't his resume at cruiserweight pretty weak too ?

Holyfield, DeLeon, Cole, Gomez, Norris maybe.

Haye took a title from Mormeck, then beat Maccarenelli, then moved up to HW. It didn't seem like much of a run to me.
(Admittedly cruiser is never quite amazing.)

Haye does look good on film but at the end of the day he hasn't really mixed with anyone of any note in the big picture really apart from Wlad. Not saying he isn't good or world class but let's see him do it against another world class fighter. Who's he fought?

Those names need some meat on the bones though. Enzo (hard to believe now but it's true) and Mormeck were the other two guys in the top three for many (all?) people. He cleaned out at the European level before that. It's true that the division didn't look like it does now in terms of talent, but it's also true he was best by a mile.

I would only rank Holyfield above him at cruiser, personally.

no problem with Fitz out, but Bugner should be in and along with Farr & Woodcock should be higher than, Mason, Akinwande & Hide. Should'nt Billy Wells and some other oldtimers not be in there also?

Just had a quick look at the Boxrec heavy ratings and Haye hasn't beat anyone in the top 20, nobody in the Ring top 10 and the only fella he's fought in those ratings is Wlad. Not a great resume for someone who's looking for a fight with "one" of the "Champs".
    Fellas he's beat at heavy
Monte Barrett, gatekeeper at his best
John Ruiz hadn't beat a rated fighter in 6 years.
Nikolai Valuev was coming off a disputed win over the shell of a fighter that used to be Evander Holyfield.
Audley Harrison, never beat a rated fighter.
Derek Chisora, never beat a rated fighter.
