yes, in the second fight he was #10. Not really the point though. http://news.google.com/newspapers?i...6&dq=cleveland+williams+sonny+liston+10&hl=en
Interesting, apparently Ali's wingspan shrunk an inch since the Liston fight while growing taller. Williams also shrunk 2 inches in height. :think
George Foreman is 6' 3 to 6' 4. Liston is proably around 6' 0. Even though it doesn't look 3 inches of a difference in the photo....it is. It happens when people stand next to each other, the gap is shorter than it is...if that makes sense.
ive seen dates of his birth as 1922, 1926 and 1927. he looks alot older than early 30s in the ali fights.
We have fun, my brother. :grouphug Really? Because I thought he looked just young enough to be Muhammad's red-headed stepchild. :hey...Not ginger enough, but young enough, you know.
William Faversham Jr. (Louisville Sponsoring Group) Mr. Faversham, The President of 'LSG' and Cassius Clay's manager, sent two of his associates to St. Francis County (eastern Arkansas) to dig up some information on Charles Liston, sometime in 1963. They found some residents who knew of the Liston Family, and after making a few contacts with locals in Sand Slough, found out that Sonny was 5 years-old in 1932. He and some other young kids used to play at Big Bear Lake.
Sonny Liston was also caught using a Senior Discount in a Diner to purchase two doughnuts and a coffee in 1963. This would make him at least 55 year of age and possibly the oldest reigning HW Champion. Another great achievement for Mr. 84 inch that has been swept under the rug of history.
