Mike Tyson Prison Fights

Honestly, boxing fans hate to admit that MMA>Boxing in a fight.

Yeah those Youth Correctional Facility kids were ****ing up Mike Tyson with their sweet MMA moves. Because if there's one thing that can beat a guy who isn't trained to fight on the ground, it's a teenager who isn't trained at all!

Also if I saw some guy "using MMA in a street fight" I'd walk over and pick his pocket while he lay there mounting all over his opponent.

 

A book came out about a year ago written by a guy who taught the GED program to inmates at the Indiana prison when Tyson was there. He heard all the stories and spoke to all the inmates. From what he said,Tyson only had one fight in prison. A guy came to challenge him while Mike was working in Laundry If I remember and Mike put him out with one shot. The other inmates picked the guy up and put him in his bunk.

In prison Mike was either respected,admired or feared according the teacher. The Teacher said Mike was quiet,rarely spoke,liked reading the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" and identified with the character "Tom Robinson." He said once in a while Mike would say that like Tom Robinson in the book,he was also innocent of the crime he was convicted of.
The book was called "Mike Tyson slept Here" and was by Chris Huntington.
Overall though,the book rarely mentions Tyson and is mostly about this teacher trying to deal with prison life and inmates as students.

I don't believe the prisoners beat Tyson or wrestled him. That sounds like bull****.
If Tyson gets in one shot,especially bare fisted,anyone is gonna feel it. Tyson was a street kid anyway and if he was on the floor,he would have not hesitated to bite someone nose off etc

 

Larry Holmes sparring partner was a big gay guy and he went to prison.
According to a few stories I have heard,everyone feared this guy and no one would call him a "***" to his face because he was putting people out.
Now that was just a sparring partner. Tyson in jail would be like Sonny Liston in jail.
A monster not to be ****ed with.

 

what you are failing to understand is that the esb forums have alot of people that arent too "plausible" in their understanding of things.

fighting a bare-knuckled mike tyson or any other hard-hitting professional heavyweight is surely a recipe for disaster.

 

Boxing fans hate to admit that? I am a boxer and have studied other arts and I can tell you that you don't know what you're talking about.
It's not the style that is special,it's the man who uses it that makes it seem special. MMA is not better than boxing,nor is boxing better than MMA necessarily.

But a word of advice,in a street fight,try to stay on your feet as long as humanly possible.
If you choose to go to the ground in a street fight,you're gonna be stomped to death. Also gonna cut your knees to shreds if the ground is an actual cement street.

 

Anyone who thinks MMA or Boxing or any style is inherently better than another doesn't know anything about martial arts. No style is superior.

 

Most people can NOT fight that is why they go to the ground.. Boxing-2 fist,MMA- 2 fist,knees,elbows,shins,feet huge advantage,let alone allowed to choke and punch in the back of the head..

 

I can't believe this thread has been bumped and no one's mentioned Rakim Oaks.
The one man who can honestly claim to have fought Tyson in the garage.

MMA is great when you have a Ref and a mat to fight on. But no sane person would choose to go to the cement street to fight anyone,let alone multiple attackers.

 

esb really needs a penalty box for the extreme stupidity of some members.

keep them out of the general population furums until they either educate themselves or move onto another forum.
